Big Sunny Room, Prime Williamsburg

Apartment - Private room · North 10th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11249, United States

The Space

Location, location, location! But more on that later...

THE APARTMENT: This is a beautiful, sunny, air-conditioned, one bedroom in a two bedroom apartment, nestled right in the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The room boasts beautiful sunny views of quiet backyards and blossoming trees overlooking private patios. It's on the second floor of a three story building facing the back and away from the street, so it's very quiet and private. There is an original folksy mural over the mantle that looks to be from the 40's which adds a lot of charm to the bedroom. The room has a calm, homey, peaceful feel and faces south resulting in great light all day long. Guests will have their own private entrance through the bedroom and have access to a fully stocked kitchen and bathroom. I provide fresh towels, linens, and a bars of soap as well as complimentary fresh French press coffee. There are also plenty of take-out menus for late night cravings. My sister's original artwork and some of my photography decorates the rest of the apartment. The apartment, kitchen, and bathroom are kept extremely clean and are at your disposal for cooking or relaxing. Guests will also have access to free high speed Verizon Fios wifi and free laundry (washer and dryer) which is located in the basement of the building.

*Most reviews mention my brother, Nate who has also handled the AirBnB duties in the past.

**When we are in town we do sleep in the other bedroom which has its own separate entrance on the other side of the apartment. We are quiet and considerate and rarely home. (You won't even know we're there!)

LOCATION - If you're looking for the authentic Williamsburg experience then there is no better place to stay than this cozy little gem. The location absolutely can't be beat! Located just steps from two great parks, dozens of restaurants and bars, and a short three block walk to the famous Bedford L subway stop, you'll find everything you need to experience this ever more popular neighborhood for yourself.

MCCARREN PARK (pictured) - is just three short blocks north on Bedford Ave. You'll be sure to find (email hidden)ly cross-section of the artistic and free spirited community that calls Williamsburg home. During evenings in the summer there are kickball games, as well as softball and volleyball, and BBQ grilling until all hours. During the day and on the weekends the park (email hidden)ly hang-out filled with locals enjoying the weather and open space. If you're wondering what everyone is drinking out of large Styrofoam cups those are margarita's available at The Turkey's Nest, a little dive bar located on the west side of Bedford Ave just before you enter the park. McCarren park also has a well maintained running track, soccer field, and basic outdoor work-out facilities for public use.

EAST RIVER STATE PARK (pictured) - is just two blocks west of your accommodations and right on the water. There's a little rock and sand beach but no swimming is allowed. There you'll find beautiful sunset views of the Manhattan skyline, regular concerts and musical performances during the summer, and a weekly food and beer festival on weekends. It's a great place for a picnic or to take a rest after a day of shopping.

  • A wonderful, generous room on the quiet side (email hidden)ly neighbourhood. Lovely decoration, big enough for two guests, two and a half windows facing the backyard.

I stayed with Robin & Kevin for nine days and it was the perfect place for starting a New York discovery. Literally 10 minutes to Union Square in Manhattan and surrounded by shops, grocery stores, restaurants and bars, this part of Williamsburg is probably the most convenient Brooklyn neighbourhood for a traveller – not cheap though.

The room has a private entrance, Robin & Kevin live on the other side of the corridor. We hardly met, just shared bathroom and kitchen. Nonetheless they are a lovely couple, very helpful with everything, giving tips where to go and what to see. Adding up to the convenience of this place is the washing machine and the tumbler down in the cellar, free to use.

    Highly recommended!

  • Nathan had a gorgeous apartment which was very clean and spacious. It was in a fantastic location and we had a lot of privacy.
Would without a doubt recommend this place to anyone else! Nathan was also extremely friendly and willing to recommend things to do :).

  • Nathan our stay was great! Your place is really quite perfect and I feel like we scored with the room and the neighbourhood. The room was spacious and I loved the mural on the wall, the bathroom and kitchen where simple and clean and had everything we needed.
The location felt very safe and was close to Manhattan and literally steps away from a tonne of great restaurants, cafes and shops.
Seeing as this was the first time we booked through AIrbnb we don't think the experience could have gone any better.
Thanks again and we hope to be back soon

  • Dream apartment. Nate was a wonderful host and made us feel right at home-- really, just like home. The room is large, has lovely light, great books and art. Very clean and comfortable. I really can't say enough. So perfectly located-- we went everywhere! [And ate everything]. I would recommend this room to anyone.

  • Nathan responded promptly and helpfully to my enquiries. When I arrived, Nathan was there to give me the key, and to show me the room. He was helpful and friendly at all times, the room was exactly as described, and beautifully clean. Nathan had left a helpful printed sheet with all the information one could need. I had some work to do, so particularly liked the generous sized desk and the good internet connection. Added to all of the above is that the location is simply the best.

  • Okay, possibly the most relaxing bedroom ever!

So serene, beautiful and quiet. Full of character, and a very nice ambiance. I felt very safe, and at home here. Thanks so much Nathan!

  • Nate is very helpful and considerate! The room is really big and comfy. The apartment is in a great area.

    Thank you Nate!

  • Nathan was a life-saver. I had a last minute change of plan at the tail end of my trip in New York and was in dire need of a place to stay at that same day! Believe me I emailed several listers ( approx 10) in the Williamsburg area. Two were nice enough to respond only to decline . And there was Nathan, who not only responded promptly but adaptively took me in. Mind you, I was emailing listers between 10 am to 2 pm to stay at their place that same day. You can't be more last minute than.
Nathan was very agreeable and allowed me to check-out at 2pm, way pass the typical check out time. He was also prompt in responding to questions regarding information within the neighborhood.
As far the area is concern, it's a nice location, right at the main drag of the neighborhood where famous stores, street vendors, restaurants can be found. The L train is only 3 blocks away from the house too.
Overall, it was a great stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay at Nathan's place again.

About
Hi, I'm Robin, and my fiancé Kevin and I will be your hosts! I'm taking over AirBnB duties from my brother Nathan. We promise to maintain his excellent standards of hospitality! We are both artists and graduates of the Rhodes Island School of Design where we met. We've been living in NYC since 2006 and in this neighborhood since 2010. We're an active pair. We like to exercise, ride our bikes, and get out of town to enjoy the beach and the great outdoors. We're equally happy to explore the art scene in NYC. We're often checking out the galleries, museums and fairs that make New York the center of the art world. Otherwise we're catching dinner with our friends, at one of the neighborhood movie theaters, or in our art studio in the Brooklyn Navy Yard making work and listening to books on tape. We're low key friendly people and we're looking forward to hosting you.
