Mia's place is quite and lovely:) especially the Staffs and the breakfast. They serviced you with love and passion. We love the fried noodles and the oatmeal . But only thing is the bugs and mosquito :( but it's amazing stay anyway

This is our go to place in Ubud. We love the location. Secluded but close enough to anything we want. Yellow flower cafe so close and never disappoints. Sunday night buffet delicious. Hyacinth house is so private and Ketut is a gem. If you want a relaxing get away in Ubud this is the place. Will be back.

I had the best 7 days at the Hyacinth House. From the time I booked the trip I was well taken care of. Barbara was quick in replying to every query and question I had. Even if I didn't get to meet them I was well prepared for my trip and lots of recommendations were given to me for things to do around Penestanan and Ubud. Transportation was provided by their recommended driver Blue. And I will highly recommend him for airport transport and to hire him for any tours you would like to do. He was honest, genuine and was very helpful. I even learnt a lot about local life in Bali from him. Funny and Friendly driver and guide. The home was exactly it was described and in photos. It was very well kept and the balinese architecture and design made it very authentic. The view inside and outside was perfect. It was exactly what I had wanted my secret getaway from the crowd to be. It is in a small village just a short walk from Ubud central. So you have the peace and quiet but will also enjoy what Ubud and the surrounding area has to offer as it is very centrally located. There are lots of cafes, spas and a yoga studio conveniently located within minutes walking distance. The neighbors are local balinese people and some ex pats. It was very safe in the night, you do need a flashlight. But for a single girl living alone I felt very safe and protected. The house crew was absolutely amazing. Ketut cooked the most delicious and the best breakfast in bali. She was super friendly and took really good care of me. When she found out I am a dancer, her daughter came to visit and taught me some balinese dancing. Pia has become my bestie from another country now. It was my birthday and due to a festival everything was closed and the staff was on leave. But breakfast was left for me in the fridge and Pia made me a homemade brownie next day for my birthday. It made my birthday really special . I had some ant infestation problem one day which is very typical of tropical country but Pia took care of the issue immediately. If i needed a massage it as booked immediately with one phone call. There is a house phone available, flashlights and umbrellas. Loved sitting outside on the gazebo watching the sunset, or dipping in the plunge pool after a hot day. Listening to crickets and frogs in the night. It was relaxing and rejuvenating. Honestly, this was the best experience i have had in a very long time and I travel a lot. I will highly recommend Hyacinth house or any of the other bungalows they offer because the people made my trip memorable. I will be coming back more often now. Thank you Barbara, Pia, Ketut and Blue for the best trip.

This is a great house in an awesome location. It is away from the busyness of the city in a quiet neighborhood near the rice fields. We appreciated the peace and how well set up the house is for visitors with mobile phone, flashlights, umbrellas, bug spray etc... you have thought of everything. Thanks for yummy breakfasts and allowing us late check out.

Wonderful quiet and private place surrounded by nature. Beautiful small house with a big terrace, a nice garden and a plungepool. A/C is not missing because of reasonable temperatures at night. Ketut prepared delicious breakfast and cleaned the house. Blue is a calm and save driver. To Ubud center about 5 minutes with motorbike (heavy traffic). From parking space to the villa about 7 minutes to walk. The footpath is not recommended for small children and drunkards and bulky luggage. At nighttime a light is urgently needed there. Bintang supermarket provides everything You may need. Close there are a few nice Warungs. We appreciated and enjoyed our stay in Hyacinth House!

Response from Made Pia:
Hi Karin, and thanks for a wonderful review. I just wanted to add however, that the path is safe and doesn't provide a challenge for those with children. Many people stay with us and also live in our area that have children of all ages. We also have a grandchild that visits frequently, and we're unafraid of his walking the path. I just didn't want you to leave the impression that it was dangerous for children. In 7 years of living here, I've never heard of anyone being hurt or injured.
