Charming house set in the quiet ricefields of Penestanan (the "Brooklyn of Bali"), but close to all amenities...restaurants, spas, markets. Just a short walk into Ubud.
Comfortable accommodation, but Balinese in aesthetic....the best of both worlds!

In a great location, with lots of tasty restaurants in short walking distance and Bintang supermarket has everything you could need. We could walk to central Ubud in about 10 minutes, it's a nice route. There is no road access to the house, so any luggage must be carried/rolled. Not an issue for us, even with a large suitcase, but worth noting. The walk from the street to the house is interesting though, was nice to be far from any busy streets and to explore the various little paths you wouldn't normally walk down as a tourist. House is kept really well and Ketut's breakfasts are amazing. WiFi worked well and was fast, bonus!

Hyacinth House, although a little difficult to get to without help, is in a great location. It is very close to everything you need including a Bintang supermarket, Ubud and the Yellow Flower Cafe, which is fantastic in itself. It is such a peaceful location, I could stay there for ages, the serenity is bliss. It's listed as a 2 bedroom villa, which is not incorrect, but the 2nd 'bedroom' is really just a partitioned off area, which wouldn't be good if you needed privacy. Also, there is no room to move around the bed as it only just fits in the area. Luckily that room was only for our daughter, so no problem for us. The upper bedroom is lovely. There are a few minor maintenance issues, which need attending to, but overall, a lovely place to stay. It is very clean, Ketut, the lady who kept the place clean is lovely & does a wonderful job. She also makes a lovely breakfast. We would stay again.

Lovely quaint traditional style cottage with a lovely pool & garden in a great location. Local Balinese staff were nice and quality of breakfast was very good. However the house was very overpriced relative to quality of what can be got within a very short walking distance (100m). We found much better value elsewhere in the same location.

This place was lovely!!! It's worth noting that the walls don't meet the ceilings and a lot of the windows have only screens, not glass, so it can feel a bit like glamping. This proved to be no problem though as the staff did a fantastic job of keeping bugs and animals out of the house. It was impeccably clean and comfortable, and the location was great- a short walk to Ubud center but far enough away from the hustle and bustle that all you hear is the noise from nature. Ketut, the housekeeper, was one of the loveliest women you'll ever meet, and her breakfast was to die for. If you're looking to escape into nature in Ubud, look no further than this villa!

Nice cosy villa in the beautiful area of Penestanan. Connection with pia was super easy, the Breakfast from Ketut was super delicious every day. A couple of lekker restaurants nearby. Pool was a bit cold and there isn't much sun in the garden because there is a lot of green. Villa has everything you need Perfect stay.

Made Pia and Ketut were absolutely wonderful hosts for the whole stay! Communication was perfect, breakfasts were divine. The house, especially the outdoor living area, was a wonderful spot for my friend and I to spend hours chatting and catching up after seeing each other for the first time in almost 15 years! A lovely, quiet location perched above a small rice field with a beautiful garden. Also, the massuse who visited the house was amazing - highly recommend.
