Less than a 10 minute walk to Old Quebec City, Plains of Abraham, Nouvo St-Roch, and Grande Allee Street. Less than a 5 minute wak from St-Jean street restaurants, groceries, specialty food stores, wine and beer, bakery.
There is wifi, a hair-drier, iron, and ironing board at your disposal.

Appartement très tranquille, confortable et très bien situé.
Let me start off by giving some background to our trip: our flights were cancelled six hours before our scheduled departure, we were on the phone with our airline representative for THREE hours and finally came up with a haphazard plan to get to QC. Unfortunately we lost a day of our stay and after 30 hours straight of traveling we opened the door to Melanie and Angus' home and were finally able to breathe in a much needed sigh of relief.
This is by far the most well-thought, comforting experience we have ever had. Melanie and Angus went over and beyond to provide us with all the amenities, directions and referrals we could ask for. Their warm home and warmer ways really solidified our desire to come back and stay again.
I have already spread the word about this place to all of my friends and family, and deeply recommend it to anyone else able to get there :)
Thank you endlessly, Melanie and Angus!
Spent 11 nights at Melanie & Angus's comfortable, elegant apartment and had a wonderful time.
Firstly we were impressed with the location: The apt is centered within easy walking distance to the city's different neighborhoods so we spent days strolling around St Roch, the rue Cartier area, the Montcalm area by the Plains of Abraham, and of course the Old City. Don't neglect the lesser-touristed neighborhoods--they're so cute! Mel and Angus hand-delivered updated pages to their restaurant recommendations and we enjoyed quite a few of them. Good bakeries and markets a short stroll away, very important. The Winter Carnival was happening during our stay and it's all within enjoyable walking distance.
Car access: A few blocks from the apt, the Delta Hotel's Enterprise car rental desk has what we found to be the best rates in town, better than corporate discount rates. We rented a car there to drive up the northern coast (VERY beautiful--highly recommend), and since the rental agency is inside the hotel, returning the car into their garage after-hours/late and dropping the key in the dropbox was very convenient.
Connectivity: We were grateful for the tech access provided because this is the sort of detail that makes a great trip an easy trip. Mel and Angus have put thought into travelers' needs, like strong wi-fi, a speaker system to plug in your music (I used my iPhone), cables to connect your laptop to the TV for movie streaming. Our travel was in February, so cold nights relaxing at home watching movies was a treat.
The little things: Spending over a week, there was nothing we lacked. Small details like Q-tips, plenty of toilet paper dispensed thru their gizmo, boxes of tissue, laundry detergent, hot water without a wait (in winter that's impressive) all add up to a carefree trip. Melanie was easily reachable if needed, responds quickly, and little perks like coffee and welcome drinks were much appreciated. Plus we loved having an electric water kettle for hot tea and such. Pots, pans, utensils, wine opener, a thermos for road trips, everything you could need.
Aesthetics: It's important! This is a visually pleasing apartment, and the decor is tasteful and functional.
We'd recommend this apartment and would stay there again. Thank you Melanie and Angus for making our first airbnb stay a great experience!
Melanie and Angus' apartment is wonderful! It is in a perfect location just a few minutes walk from Old Quebec, yet far enough away that we felt like we were living among locals rather than tourists. It's also near many cafes and grocery stores. There was plenty of space for my husband and I to spread out (something we didn't fully appreciate until a few days later when we crammed into a hostel room in Montreal). The kitchen had everything we needed and the bed was very comfortable (and I am picky!). Even though we visited in January, we always found the apartment to be warm and cozy. Next time we are in Quebec, we will definitely look here first for Melanie & Angus' listing.
Communication from Melanie was always within minutes. The location was easy to find and instructions were perfectly clear. The welcome drinks were also much appreciated after numerous flight cancellations and delays. 5 stars plus!
Thanks again Melanie and Angus! I hope to make it up there soon!
Could not have had a nicer stay. The apartment was warm, cozy, inviting, and the welcome drinks we were provided were such an appreciated touch. Looking forward to returning!
