Guest Access

Your separate side entrance and patio make this guest suite a really private place to stay. Patio furniture includes a table and 4 chairs. If you plan on staying for awhile, there's plenty of storage under the beds and in the large closet.

Interaction with Guests

When you stay in the Kale Garden Suite, you're on your own to come and go as you please. We'll greet you when you arrive, and maybe check in a time or two via email or phone, then we'll wave "until the next time" when you depart! We're here if you need us, we're happy to help, just let us know!

The Neighborhood

Victory Heights is a "pocket neighborhood". It's secluded with parks and green space with easy access to Thornton Creek. Walking around the neighborhood you'll see some of the original houses built from the early 1920's to after WWII, all built on large lots. No sidewalks and easy to walk. You'll discover how convenient the quiet neighborhood is to bus lines and I-5.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • Christy was very warm and helpful. The bed was heaven to sleep in . . . Organic she later told me. I loved being able to walk a couple blocks down to Thornton Creek park. It's a natural area, a bit like being in a national park. The bathtub was also wonderful!

  • I enjoyed my stay at the Seattle Kale Garden Suite. I found the room very clean and well organized. Christy was a good host and thoughtful enough to accommodate my gluten allergy. I would highly recommend the Seattle Kale Garden suite to anyone who desires to be located in this area.

  • Christy and her husband were great, though I only saw them on the last day of my visit. The room and bathroom are small, but meticulously clean. The room worked great for what I needed--a place to sleep while working long hours downtown. I have a rental car, which really helps, though there is bus service nearby. There are some great ethnic eateries and a starbucks with a five minute drive from the house. If available, I would stay here again.

  • My son and I visited Seattle for the first time this week-end so that we could tour Seattle University. Staying at the Kale Garden Suite & Patio was a great plus to our trip. Our little apartment was very clean and inviting and the perfect place to come "home" to at the end of the day or mid-afternoon in order to re-group for our evening adventures. We experienced life in a lovely neighborhood convenient to Seattle. Our accomodations were quiet and very comfortable. We were happy to have beverages and yummy / healthful snacks available to us as well. Christy was a gracious host and quick to respond to any inquiries we made. Thank you and I look forward to my next visit!

  • Christy's place was very sweet with many special touches. I loved the closet that housed the mini-microwave, fridge, electric teapot, and light. She provided homemade granola with dried fruit from her fruit trees on the property. She is into sustainability like my partner, so we had interesting conversations.
The bed was luscious and comfortable. The Full moon streamed into the room and was magickal. The location was two blocks from transit, the cab found the place easily. Plenty of extra towels.
It was lovely. We had several storms while I was there and never lost power. She waited to change internet providers so that I could be assured to have internet over the weekend.
Oh yes, one morning she picked me up and took me to my conference location. Above and Beyond.
Thanks Christy. I'll entice Fred up sometime with me and the 4 of can have a 'deep' conversation about sustainability.

  • My husband and I Enjoyed our stay with Christy. She made us feel comfortable and right at home. The room was exactly what we needed for our trip. We had direct access to the room so we did not feel like we was imposing on her. The neighborhood was very quite. We loved the king size bed. We will definitely stay with Christy again. Thank you!

  • Christy was a great host, attentive without being obtrusive. The suite was clean and comfortable, and I had everything I needed. Unfortunately the weather didn't allow me to make use of the patio during the 5 weeks I was there. Maybe next time!

From PNW. I work in sustainability education and training. I work from home and facilitate online live courses. It's exciting to see so many people interested in the sames things I am. Bill and I garden in our large yard, glean fruit in season (blackberries!) and enjoy trading seeds with other gardeners. Bill is the kale gardener and eats it every day - as in all 4 seasons! We are happy in our new role as grandparents and look forward to lots fun times playing with the baby. We are movie buffs and particularly like documentaries.
