Staying on this property will allow you to connect with and experience nature in an unforgettable way. Fall asleep to soothing sounds of the stream and wake up to the beautiful songs of the birds on this one acre property. We are happy to share local tips with you about local beaches and hikes that you can access, as well as restaurants you can order from, etc. even with quarantine rules in place.

The space
This fully outfitted campsite is located in a river valley at the base of Mt. Ka’ala, the highest peak on Oahu. The private gated community is close to all beaches on the north shore and only about 2 miles from Haleiwa town center.

This property is entirely off-grid, yet still has the comforts of home. All energy is generated with solar power. Water is pumped from our private artesian well 180 feet below the surface of the earth. Experience the beautiful outdoors and serenity of the open air with the comforts of clean sheets, electricity, and a hot shower. Please refer to the house rules for limitations on power use.

The 10’x20’ lanai has comfortable seating with views of the ravine. This South African Safari tent is equipped with it’s own propane refrigerator, sink and stove. Experience the beautiful outdoors and serenity of the open air with the comforts of clean sheets, electricity, and a hot shower.

The 17’x17’ enclosed area has a queen size bed and a queen sized futon couch bed. There is a power strip with plenty of power to charge your phones, tablets, etc.

The attached bathroom includes plumbed sink, toilet and propane hot-water shower, along with a claw foot tub.

This Safari tent is on the same property with our main house and another tent, but the landscaping and the layout of the land allow for plenty of privacy.

We have many suggestions for hiking, surfing, snorkeling, shopping, and dining spots.

There is a certified organic farm in the neighborhood and a farmers market right down the street to purchase fresh local produce on Saturdays.

Our guests have told us this hideaway is more than just a place to stay, but an experience of true native Hawaii.

Laundry facilities are available for use for guests staying 7 days or more.

Enjoy (when in season) sweet dwarf apple bananas, papayas, Meyers lemons, Mexican limes, star fruit, oranges, tangerines, and whatever is growing in the garden at the time.

Snorkeling gear, beach towels, chairs, and surfboards (2 x beginner soft tops)available for use.

There are two friendly hens and a loving cat which may visit during your stay. No other pets are allowed on the property, sorry.

Please be advised that trespassing on neighboring properties is not allowed.

Guest access
Guest are allowed to explore the property as long as they are mindful of other guests and tenants on the property.

Snorkeling gear and surfboards (2 x beginner soft tops) available for use and we have many suggestions for places to adventure, hike and surf as well as favorite restaurants, shops, yoga and beaches.

There are 18 lots inside this gated community and every property back here is off-grid. This property all used to belong to Dole. Each dwelling is unique and everyone has worked hard over the years to make comfortable sustainable homes. All of our neighbors are very friendly and some of our best friends are just across the road. Everyone waves as they drive past and you will often see the neighbors and guests on their daily walks on the road.

We are an active and adventurous couple who appreciate the natural beauty of Hawaii and are excited to share this space with travelers. We are always happy to share local tips and recommend beaches, restaurants, and adventures. We spent over 5 years developing this property and then decided to embark on a new adventure, at sea. We now split time between Hawaii and French Polynesia, where we live on our catamaran, Kaimana. This is another beautiful region that we enjoy sharing with others. If you're interested in learning more, look up Kaimana Adventures. Aloha and enjoy your stay in Hawaii!
