Well-appointed, spacious one bedroom apartment in a highly-sought location. The apartment is located in a classic Art-Deco style building (two blocks from the famous Lincoln Road) with quaint yellow and white striped awnings, garden landscaping, 1940's style windows, and artisan saltillo tiles characteristic of South Beach architecture.
Multiple large windows with palm-tree and downtown skyline views, south-western exposure provides great morning and afternoon light, including gorgeous sunset colors in the bedroom in the evening. Heat & humidity are easily escaped here with a quiet and efficient central cooling system as well as multiple ceiling fans.
The apartment is fully furnished with an eclectic yet well-curated mix of mid-century modern items with a splash of retro and nautical style. Furnishings including a leather Corbusier-style box-sofa and a teak Credenza, a 1950's enamel & chrome dry bar, a world war two era type-writing desk, an antique shipping trunk, vintage and Beaux-Arts style artwork, and of course contemporary light fixtures.
The newly-remodeled kitchen is equipped with brushed-metal appliances including a generous-sized refrigerator, dishwasher, and oven with a four-burner range. The bathroom features a full-sized cast-iron tub with an overhead shower, vanity sink with classic black and white retro backsplash tiles, a low-flush toilet, and modern half-chrome lighting.
The location of the apartment in the building lends extreme privacy as it is on the second floor in the front-corner of the building (located just over the lobby) with the only shared wall being in the kitchen, so there is no perceptible noise from neighboring units and guests do not have to be overly mindful of their noise levels.
The building is on the same block as critically-acclaimed restaurant The Yardbird as well as the Abbey, a cozy bar serving over 40 Belgian style bieres and a favorite amongst locals. Walk two blocks to Lincoln Road shopping or ten minutes to Ocean Drive and the beach. A block away from the conveniences of Alton Road, such as taxis, restaurants, shops, and more.
Note: Full-sized air mattress available for those with more than two guests (four maximum) but the apartment functions most comfortably with two.
Our stay in Alex's apartment was great, the flat is in a very quiet street but very close to Lincoln street where you can gat some drinks or do your shopping. Apartment has a huge TV for entertainment and it is quite comfortable for 3-4 people. The "check in" process went smoothly with neighbor giving us keys when we arrived.
We also got parking permits so that our rental could b parket on the streets close to the apt.
All in all I recommend the flat to anyone coming to South Beach.
My friend and I had a nice time staying at Alex's apartment. Small but gorgeous and very well decorated. Nice location and it's only a 15 minutes walk to the beaches.
- the check in and check out times could have been a bit more flexible.
- clean and fresh towels were provided. We were only given 2 clean towels for the entire stay.
This was our first visit to Miami and our first Airbnb experience. We could not have asked for a better experience. Alex was extremely accommodating prior and when we arrived and it was a pleasure dealing with him throughout the entire process. The location was ideal for walking it was close to everything!
Thanks for opening up your home to us and being a great host! We hope to return soon!
We stayed at Alex's place for 4 days for our getaway to South Beach. The location of the apartment was amazing! Everything was within a short walk: Lincoln Rd, the beach, Ocean Drive, etc. When we arrived, Alex's neighbour (Jane) assisted us in opening the door and got us settled in. The apartment was very clean when we walked in - a very good start for our trip :) Communication between Alex and our party went smoothly throughout our entire trip. A few other notes: the tv can only connect if you have an iPhone, otherwise there is no cable. It would have been good if we had some tv to watch during our downtime but that wasn't a big deal. The washer and dryer are inside the building, not in the apartment. Alex also provided us with a backup air mattress which we thought was thoughtful in case something went wrong with the first one. Overall, we had a great time at South Beach and at Alex's apartment!
This was a beautiful, comfortable place to stay in a great location. Alex couldn't meet us when we arrived, so we picked up the keys from a neighbor (who also shared some local parking passes, making our lives a lot easier). I've rarely felt so at-home in a rental.
Great art deco place with great location to all the beautiful spots at Miami beach and south beach. Rent a bike and live your life in Miami!
Also lovely recommendations of The host his friend.
Me and my friend stayed at the apartment for 3 days. The apartment is a great place that we strongly recommend to stay in. His bed is one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in and he has everything very clean and nice. The place is just a 10 minute walk to the beach and it is very close to lincoln avenue where you can find all the shops and good restaurants. We didn't get to meet Alex but it was easy to contact with him for anything we needed. He seems to be a very nice person and he gave us very good recommendations. Her neighbor showed us the apartment and helped us with everything. We are very glad to have choosen this place and would love to come back again!
