  • This is my second stay with the Sierra Mountain Lodge and Brenda and John. They are awesome hosts, offering great conversation, insight and history on the area - and they run a very clean, quiet and beautiful BnB. I highly recommend them!!

  • The Explorer Suite is very clean, comfortable and has all the supplies needed to e.g. grill your own BBQ in the backyard. The lodge is located in a quiet are and the view from the veranda is just breathtaking. Furthermore Brenda and her husband are very kind and have helped us with all our questions.
    We definitely enjoyed our stay!
    Thank you very much. :)

  • My mom and I stayed at Brenda and John’s lodge for our Yosemite travel. It was my first airbnb experience and the couple's lodge definitely set the bar high. I only met John and he was an amazing host--knowledgable of the area, kind and generous, and very attentive to details! One of the most memorable things about my stay at their lodge is his famous breakfast served every morning. There were yogurt, fresh fruits, English muffins, bread, pancakes/waffles with blueberry and raspberry topping, coffee, orange juice, milk, etc. I might have missed one or two, but the point is breakfast was awesome especially for people who have a long day ahead. Nutritious and filling. During breakfast, John was also available at the lobby answering questions about driving, sightseeing, and hiking at the Yosemite Park. He was not only extremely helpful but such a pleasure to talk with. It was apparent that he had strong passion and love for Yosemite—he even put together old pictures of Yosemite, made a slideshow, and showed the movie to us! It was fun and very informative for us because we traveled ourselves (email hidden).

I think one of the biggest strengths of this lodge is the hosts’ genuine hospitality! Breakfast is just an example. From the moment I booked, I was treated with care and attention. The confirmation email after booking came through in a heartbeat, which was followed by a very detailed list of policies, rules, and tips for travel around Yosemite. These emails gave me a very clear idea about what to expect (this is important for new airbnb users like me) prior to the trip. When I actually got to the lodge and entered the Explorer Suite, things were very much in place. Everything was perfectly ready and as described in the previous email. They also had various notes here and there so the guests won’t get lost. For example, in the bathroom, there's a little note saying that hot water takes time to come out and so be patient. There were as many towels as we needed during our stay so we didn’t have to ask for more or refreshing towels. They also prepared a binder of info sheets helpful for driving around the park. The hosts and innkeepers seemed very knowledgeable of what guests and tourists really need and want. They probably have given a lot of thought to how to make each and every guest’s stay comfortable and memorable, and their effort was manifested at every stage of booking process and at every corner of their house.
