John, Brenda & kids ~ Your Innkeepers
We spent the week end at Brenda's place with our 2 kids and it was just perfect. The host is very accommodating and the area is gorgeous. Definitely looking forward to come back.
Very easy, quick, comfortable, and cozy. The location was very good, complete silence. It was last minute booked and the host made it very easy for us.
A very quiet and peaceful place. Easy to find and clean. Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks.
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay in the Sunrise room at the Sierra Mountain Lodge. No trouble finding the place or using the self check-in system. The Lodge is situated in a rural/forest area so it's quiet and peaceful (but it also means that wifi will be spotty or non-existent in the rooms but 4G worked fine).
The room (a two-storied suite) was clean, cozy and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Complimentary chocolates were a nice touch! We woke early one morning to watch the spectacular sunrise from the porch - I recommend it!
The lodge has a guest room/lobby that was warm and inviting. Although the lodge does not serve breakfast in the off-season, the lobby is open early and there’s a kettle and toaster for guests’ use. A great DVD selection can be found there too, and free (tho sluggish) wifi. I only wish we’d had more time to relax in the beautiful lobby!
Brenda, our host, was very friendly and gave us a warm welcome when we called from the lobby to say we’d arrived. We didn’t see much of her throughout our stay but we knew that she was easily accessible should we need her. She was very helpful with restaurant suggestions for Christmas Day (not everything is open but we did find a good Chinese restaurant in Oakhurst - Taste of China). We also found a guest info. folder in our room with suggestions for sightseeing, hiking, and dining in Yosemite and surrounding area.
We used Sierra Mountain lodge as a base for exploring Yosemite park and found that it suited our itinerary well. It’s approximately a 1.5 hr drive to Yosemite Valley (we took Hwy 41/Wawona Rd) and it’s a beautiful drive with plenty of spots to pull over along the way and enjoy the stunning vistas. Badger Pass ski area and Mariposa grove of sequoias are in this area of Yosemite (both of which we visited). Nearby Oakhurst has everything you need for supplies - grocery stores, restaurants, hardware stores (for tire chains in winter!).
We would definitely stay at the Sierra Mountain Lodge/Sunrise room again and highly recommend it to others also.
Fantastic experience from start to finish. The unit was a perfect place for us to take in all that Yosemite has to offer!
What a great trip to Yosemite! This was our first time staying at a bed and breakfast and Brenda did not disappoint. The Sunrise special was perfect and the entire place was decorated with fine details that added to the experience. Brenda welcomed us there upon reception and the view was beyond phenomenal. The location was perfect between the North and South entrance of Yosemite.
