I cannot say enough good things about our stay at this beautiful place. The Castle Inn is gorgeous, each room is unique and beautifully designed, and the upstairs terrace and fireplace make this the perfect home to come back to day after day of adventures in Cappadocia.
Booking here means not only renting a beautiful room (ours had a jacuzzi!), but also gaining a friendship through Suat. He was the perfect host, so warm and accommodating and making sure we had everything we needed each day. His staff went above and beyond each and everyday for us- when we came home from dinner, they had a bottle of wine and a fire started for us! Suat and his amazing staff (especially Ahmet) exceeded my expectations of this trip.
When I first messaged Suat on airbnb to tell him our travel desires, I found out that he is the chief pilot operator for Royal Balloons! I did not have to worry about setting up a trip, he did that for us. I felt like I lucked out! He also set up our day tour for us (we chose the green tour, which was exploring the underground ancient cities), airport shuttle, and horseback riding. With all of our travel plans, he took a load of my responsibility off my hands and planned our entire itinerary in Cappadocia for us. Of course, the balloon ride was the highlight of our trip- the ride was beautiful and Suat was a delight to everyone riding with him. He made everyone laugh and even took on the role of DJ during the flight.
Throughout our stay, we were served a delicious breakfast each morning. On our last evening, Suat and his crew made us the most delicious dinner. They barberqued many delicious meats for us, along with fresh salad, bread, and wonderful company.
I truly hope that if you are considering a stay in Cappadocia, that you do come and stay at the Castle Inn. You will depart having felt so much joy from your trip, gained a new friendship, and have gotten most out of your time in Cappadocia.
Thank you again for such a wonderful experience!
It's hard to even evaluate Castle Inn as a hotel, because it's more like staying at your best friend's house for a few days. Suat is quite literally the most helpful, kind and welcoming host I have ever met (not to mention Ahmet, who is also so wonderful)! As soon as we walked in the door, we felt so comfortable and right at home. Suat has had so many interesting life experiences and has met SO many people; he's full of amazing stories and it's easy to spend hours talking to him (over a cup of Turkish tea, of course)!
The experience of staying in a castle-themed room is very unique. The rooms are built right into the rock, but are also equipped with all modern appliances. Something that struck me is that every decoration has a particular story behind it. It's clear that a LOT of thought has gone in to making this hotel a very special place to stay, and the result is breathtaking.
One other thing I want to mention is that Suat cares deeply about each and every one of his guests. In addition to making sure our stay was comfortable, helping us book activities in Cappadocia, and spending time chatting with us and getting to know our story, he ALSO organized everything for the last few days of our trip (after leaving Cappadocia). He went above and beyond to make sure our trip went smoothly, and we are truly grateful for that.
If you are traveling to the Cappadocia area, I highly recommend you stay at Castle Inn. It will be an experience you won't forget, and you will be treated with the utmost kindness and respect.
Thank you Suat and everyone at Castle Inn! We hope to see you again soon :)
I had a great Airbnb experience at Castle Inn. While I was only there for one night with a very late arrival, I found Suat's Castle to be a wonderful space and Suat to be an incredible host. He and his assistant stayed back late at the castle for my check-in (sorry again for being so late!), then walked me over to a friend's restaurant for dinner. After I sat down to eat there was a huge thunderstorm and the electricity went out. I was trying to figure out the best way to get back in the rain when, lo and behold, Suat came to the restaurant to rescue me (and he joined me for a tea or two before leaving). I'd feel comfortable declaring Suat to be one of my very favorite Airbnb hosts.
Regarding the Castle, Suat has done a wonderful job decorating the place to give it a different feel than the other cave hotels in the area, which go for more of a traditional Turkish feel. Castle Inn is the type of place where there is evident care put into all the amenities and furnishings (for example, the custom-made furniture, bath slippers, tea light candles, soft ambient noise for sleeping, automatic scent dispenser, info booklet about the area, etc.) There are also nice seating areas throughout the premise that are great for lounging, reading a book, catching a sunset, having a tea, etc.
Also, the town that it's located in is a MUCH less bustling area than Goreme or Urgup (where all the other tourists will end up). This place offers a quiet respite to your busy tourist activities during the day - it's a breath of fresh air, quite a relaxing little town with a few intimate restaurants and tea shops arranged around the central square where the locals are out having a tea or taking a stroll.
Finally, great breakfast spread! Everything you could want, and Suat isn't fussy if you come down in the late morning to graze.
I stayed at a different cave hotel in Urgup - let's just say it was more expensive and I can't think of a single aspect of it that was better than (or even comparable to) Suat's place. This guy deserves your business, and you won't be disappointed.
Suat is an incredibly friendly and warm person who makes you feel welcomed and at home almost immediately!! Both my partner and I felt like we were entering a friend's home and Suat's hospitality and passion for his Castle Inn project is very evident! His communication is clear and he was kind enough to send us emails before our arrival with all the information to plan our two days in Cappadocia. We were able to book a hot air balloon ride with Suat's friend from Urgup Baloons and it was one of the best experiences of our time in Turkey! Along with Suat, we also loved the company of Ahmed, who helps guests staying in Castle Inn. Ahmed showed us around Ortahisar and was kind and lovely company! Castle Inn is located in Ortahisar, a short ride away from the overly tourist Goereme. We were so thankful to be away from the touristy parts as it gave us a chance to interact with locals and to witness older men gambling and drinking tea in the cafes around Castle Inn! Overall a great stay in a comfortable and clean room in the middle of a lovely town in Cappadocia! Would highly recommend to anyone!
