Interaction with Guests
As much if as little as they prefer.
My neighborhood is walking distance to several restaurants off the tourist grid....and Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. It is safe. I have several great squirrels demanding food in the morning.
Bus stop is two blocks from my doorstep.
No smoking in the house,
Very comfortable and relax stay with Juliana who is Yvonne's Daughter, in Napa area it could be a really good deal to stay in this place, even during the daytime its a little hot but as the sunset it's getting cooler, I would really recommend to stay in Yvonne's house
The house was great and clean. The private bathroom was a nice touch. Parking was easy and ample. It's not really within walking distance of downtown Napa (unless you want to walk 2 miles one way) but there's free parking in Napa so it didn't matter. We dealt mostly with Yvonne's daughter who was fantastic. She was armed with a ton of information on wineries, restaurants, things to do, and other info. It was a great place to spend the night.
The owner's daughter, Julia, was at the house for the day and night we stayed, so we did not get a chance to meet Yvonne. Julia was very nice and accommodating; she gave us a great recommendation for breakfast. The neighborhood was great - residential, quiet, and seemingly safe. There was a bunch of medical equipment in trash bags on the front porch but it didn't interfere with our stay. The house is secure; they do lock the front door and provide you with a key.
Bedroom was clean with its own private bath and the shower was very nice. Shampoo/conditioner and soap were provided (as well as a hairdryer) which was great because I forgot mine. Bed was very comfy. Even though I think they have dogs, she kept them in another room while we were there. Neither the bedroom nor the house smelled strongly of animals, contrary to some of the other reviews here. Everything was fresh and clean. One thing I did need that I didn't see in the bedroom closet was an iron, however, I did not ask if there was one in another room.
If you are looking to stay somewhere that is within walking distance to downtown Napa, know that this place is just under 2 miles from downtown, so it is a bit of a walk.
Overall, this was a great place to stay and fantastic price compared to the other options in the area. Will likely be back our next time in Napa!
Had a really nice stay at Yvonne's place. Thanks for the great recommendations (Sonoma plaza!) :)
Yvonne was an exceptional host. The information from her regarding our trip to Napa was spot on. She even mentioned a delicious Mexican restaurant for us one night when we came home from wine tasting. So good. Don't hesitate, book with Yvonne - experience Napa.
We have given a lot of thought before posting a review for Yvonne. It is important to the air bnb community that honest reviews are given. Although we had a nice time with Yvonne, this place is not for everyone. The positive part of our experience included the great location, the great value price for a Napa location, cute dogs, soft and cozy bed, the wifi, a clean room and the laid back easy going style of Yvonne. The part of our stay that may be problematic for others included a strong odor of dogs in all parts of the house, a bird that sings loudly and frequently and kept us awake at night and woke us early in the morning, the cleanliness of the rest of the house was not as clean as our area. By far, the most disturbing part of our stay was that Yvonne does not lock her doors and does not provide a way for her guests to
Lock their door when no one is at the house. To add to this alarming situation, Yvonne told us that recently someone came into her house when she was at work and took her ipad and iPhone. So, should we then feel safe in leaving our electronics in our unlocked room in her unlocked house while we tour the Napa area? Nope. We took our belongings with us, which was inconvenient and negates one of the advantages of having a place to stay. Yvonne is a generous trusting person who collects unused medical equipment and offers it to anyone who needs it. The problem is that people she does not know come to her unlocked home when no one else is thereto collect these free items and it makes an uncomfortable and potentially unsafe situation for her guests. To be clear, we felt completely safe while we were there but we don't think it is a situation you would want to go into without this information. Yvonne herself is an interesting and sweet woman and we enjoyed her.
