The Space

This cozy house is located a 5 minute walk to Crotched Mountain ski area with great hiking on off season. There is a full kitchen and living room area as well as half bath with laundry and one bedroom on first floor. The second floor includes one bedroom with two sets of twin bunkbeds, a full bath and a second bedroom with a single bed. There is a small screened in porch on the back of house which is very private and peaceful. On the front of the house is a large deck with acess to livingroom, kitchen and bedroom. The house includes washer, dryer and Gas Grill as well as all clean linens.

Very kid friendly with family Movies, Board games, puzzles and lincoln logs.

There are many things to do in the area which include Mount Monadnock (claimed to be the 2nd most climbed Mtn. in the world), golf, dining, horse back riding, snow shoeing, cross country skiing, shopping ect.

Two areas I would recommend looking at online is downtown Peterborough and downtown Keene. Peterborough is a very quaint town with places like The Peterborough Players Theater, Antique shops, Fine dining as well as Organic dining and Organic grocery store. There is an old fashioned movie theater and plenty of Arts. A local favorite is Harlow's Pub for drinks, food and music. The town of Keene is a favorite with a downtown full of small shops and restaurants where you can park and walk and enjoy indoor and outdoor dining along the way. Also lots of department store shopping. Keene is well known for its Pumpkin Festival in the fall which displays thousands of lit pumpkins.

There are lots of fairs and festivals throughout the different seasons. Such as the Hot Air Balloon Festival in nearby Hillsboro in July, The Cheshire Fair in August and The Spring Carnival right here at Crotched Mountain, just to name a few.

Also available is the use of three kayaks on beautiful Lake Monomonac which is a 35 minute drive away.

There are many things to do in the area so please ask any questions about what you and your family may be looking to do.

If you are looking for a place to just relax, you will enjoy a nice breeze through the house in summer and a beautiful sunset from the living room.

We welcome any questions and will get into more detail with any of your questions. Upon your arrival we will have avaiable maps and brochures on area attractions as well as hiking info and some area trail guides.

  • We spent the fourth of July weekend at this house and we could not have had a more wonderful time. The house is perfectly situated in a peaceful, beautiful part of New Hampshire and close to lovely mountains and lakes, which makes it great for outdoor activities.

The place itself is spacious, charming and well-equipped. It perfectly accommodated the four of us. With a full kitchen and a grill, you can do some proper cooking in a relaxing setting. There are also many movies and board games that kept us entertained. All around, it's a great space to relax and close enough to a couple of quaint cities that are worth a look.

Dan and Carol were absolutely fantastic, staying in touch with us throughout our stay and doing all they could to make sure we enjoyed our time. I would highly recommend this mountain house and our great hosts.

  • I came to New Hampshire to visit my mom who has been pretty sick. The cabin was a cozy peaceful place that I could come home to at night, in an emotional time. Daniel and Carol were great in that they made sure I had what I needed, but left me the space I needed too. Thank you!

  • The house was really comfortable, spacious, and equipped. High, vaulted ceilings, great living room for lounging, perfect for cooking dinners, etc. Daniel and Carol were very accommodating and responsive and were able to host us in rather short notice. The area of NH itself is great too, great outdoors activity options (we snowshoed) and quaint town centers. I would definitely return to both the area as well as the property!

  • My boyfriend and I stayed for Valentine's weekend! The house has amazing views and is very cozy. It snowed everyday and it is very close to skiing! We only met Dan but he was very accommodating especially with all of the snow that (was never ending) was surrounding the property! He went over where everthing is in the house and it is fully stocked! All of the essentials for cooking , it has washer/dryer /dishwasher and blankets galore! The house is set back in the woods so it was perfect back drop for a relaxing getaway. They have a great collection of movies and board games! We definitely enjoyed the house and can't wait to visit again!

  • The house was exactly as depicted on Air Bnb, if not even bigger and with more amenities. We were pleased to discover more than enough kitchen supplies to cook with, as well as enough games and movies for our downtime. As far as access to the mountain, this place cannot be beat.. ski on-ski off option, and easy to walk down to the lodge. My friends and I had an amazing time and would definitely come back here again!

  • We only met Daniel, but he is an exceedingly kind and accommodating man. he and his wife have a wonderful home that is warm, cozy, comfortable and well equipped. The location could not be closer to the fun and excitement of crotched mountain, yet the house is far enough off the main road that prying passers by and nosy hikers are not a problem. There are a few things which were particularly nice to have: the laundry machines, the mini portable heater he provided us just in case, the retractable privacy screens on the master bedroom and the living room. Daniel provided a comprehensive binder of activities and near by fun things to do which kept us busy for our entire stay. In short stay here if you can, its beautiful and the hosts could not be nicer.

  • Exceeded my expectations, very comfortable place to stay. We were greeted by Dan and he showed us around. It was only a couple of minutes away from Crotched Mountain. We all had a great time and definitely recommend everyone to stay at Daniel and Carol's place!

  • Dan was such a fantastic host, and this house is perfect! I found the listing for this house on a whim while looking for a Columbus Day weekend getaway, and this ended up being exactly what we were looking for!

The house is located directly on Croched Mtn. Our first day, we literally walked out the front door and up the road for 5 minutes to find ourselves on the ski trails- such a convenient hike!

The little town of Peterborough is about 15 minutes away and has great little shops and eateries- Harlow's Pub was our favorite!

The house is only about 40 minutes from Mt Monadnock, and Keene is nearby as well- both activities are highly recommended!

The house itself was so warm and cozy! The bedrooms are incredibly spacious, as well as the living area. It was also fully stocked with towels, blankets, movies, board games, coffee, tea-- anything and everything you need for a weekend in the mountains!

Dan was also so accommodating, he met us at the house to show us around and left us an entire guide to the surrounding area that he and Carol had made, which was really nice (and accurate!).

My family and I are definitely looking forward to staying at this perfect little mountain home again in the future!
