What to know about the highlight for top homes
Guests put their trust in hosts every time they book. They should feel confident they know what to expect before making reservations.
The highlight helps top listings stand out and makes it easier for guests to choose a place that meets their needs best.
What is the highlight?
The highlight shows how eligible listings compare to others based on ratings, reviews, and reliability. Listings with at least 5 reviews in the past 2 years qualify for the highlight.
The top 10% of eligible listings include:
- A gold trophy
- A gold Guest Favorites badge
- A label with the listing’s top 1%, 5%, or 10% ranking
The highlight appears in search results, on the listing page, and above the reviews.
We’ll also show guests when a listing is in the bottom 10% of eligible listings. The bottom 10% label appears above the reviews.
The highlight is updated regularly using various factors, including:
- Overall star ratings, feedback in guest reviews, and communication between guests and hosts on the platform
- Subcategory ratings for check-in, cleanliness, accuracy, communication, location, and value
- Host cancellation rates
- Quality-related issues reported to Airbnb Support
You’ll get a notification whenever a guest rates and reviews your listing or reports a quality-related issue. And you can report a review that you believe goes against our Reviews Policy.
What are other ways homes and hosts can stand out?
The highlight isn’t the only way guests can find a great stay. Guest Favorites and the Superhost program recognize standout listings and outstanding hosts.
- Guest Favorites are a collection of the most-loved homes on Airbnb, according to guests. They’re based on ratings, reviews, and reliability data from over half a billion trips.
- Superhosts are recognized for their track record of outstanding hospitality. The Superhost badge appears on their listings and profile.
