Group Work Trip? Relocations? There is an Airbnb for that
Airbnb to integrate with Concur TripLink for better business travel visibility and management
SAN FRANCISCO – July 28, 2014 – Airbnb, the world’s leading community-driven hospitality company, today announced that it will begin to support business travelers through a partnership with Concur, the leading provider of spend management solutions and services in the world. Business travelers who use Concur’s TripLink service will be able to book Airbnb listings directly, have their expense reports automatically pre-populated in Concur and ensure Duty of Care requirements are met.
In addition, Airbnb has partnered directly with businesses to introduce Business Travel on Airbnb, providing business travel search and expenditure management. Airbnb worked closely with Salesforce to shape its business travel approach and there are now more than 30 companies signed up to work with Airbnb, including Evernote, Eventbrite, and Lyft.
“We know Airbnb isn’t for every road warrior, but for larger groups, longer stays, and relocations, Airbnb offers inspired spaces in memorable places to make the most of any type of travel,” said Chip Conley, Airbnb’s head of global hospitality. “Nearly ten percent of Airbnb’s customers travel for business already and we’ve heard from customers that this type of offering is high on their wish list. Working with Concur, we’ve now made it even easier for people to make the most of their business travel."
“We’ve noticed that business travelers are increasingly taking advantage of a new generation of suppliers like Airbnb. Employees clearly want Airbnb in their managed travel program and we think that trajectory will continue,” said Tim MacDonald, executive vice president at Concur. “Our goal is to support customers who want to empower their employees while ensuring that fiscal visibility and duty of care responsibilities are met.”
Airbnb will be partnering with Concur to offer integration with Concur’s TripLink, a solution that lets employees book managed travel directly on third-party supplier sites while providing business travel managers with complete visibility into itineraries and expenses in one consolidated view. The integrated service will be available this fall. Concur provides business travel services to more than 70 percent of Fortune 100 companies, who were otherwise unable to make Airbnb available as part of their travel policies.
Airbnb travelers seek experiences that can redefine the business trip, whether looking for convenient proximity to meetings, a space that makes after-work feel like vacation, a gourmet kitchen for cooking with colleagues, comfortable meeting space for offsites, easy access to running trails or beaches, larger homes for family companions or group getaways, or a homier neighborhood feel for extended stays or relocations.
