This tour consists of a pleasant walk around the ancient Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum, destroyed and covered in ashes by the VESUVIUS in 79 AD. During the famous eruption, Pompeii and its inhabitants were buried by tons of pumice and volcanic ashes, which preserved many things and materials in amazing conditions. The tour starts here, and after it you'll have time to grab some lunch or to stroll on the souvenirs' shops outside the ruins. Then I'll provide you with the Circumvesuviana train tickets and we will catch it in order to get to Herculaneum (20 mins trip circa) and start our walk in the ruins. Herculaneum is much smaller, but even better preserved than Pompeii. While Pompeii had been covered in four meters of ashes, an avalanche of 20-meters-thick mud had buried Herculaneum. Two-floor buildings, carbonized wooden objects, intact paintings and mosaics are still observable there. The site gives a vivid impression of the opulent lifestyle enjoyed by the wealthier citizens of the Roman Empire! Our walk ends in Herculaneum. We will visit the beach with the skeletons, the houses with their decorations, the thermal baths, the fountains, the charred materials and some typical shops. A step back in time to discover two ancient buried towns of Vesuvius in 79 AD., the unique example to know habits and details of daily life of the Romans. We will first visit Pompeii, a Roman city of 66 hectares with its theaters, the graffiti, a typical house with its decorations (mosaics and frescoes), the lupanare with erotic frescoes, the forum (the square) and the plaster casts of the victims. After a brief break (45min about) we move to the site of Herculaneum (if you do not have a car, you should consider 30 minutes by train from Pompeii). It will be a useful opportunity to compare it with Pompeii. I will show you the differences about the state of conservation wich make Herculaneum a proper gem. We will visit the beach with the skeletons, the houses with their decorations, the thermal baths, the fountains, the charred materials and some typical shops. During the visits you will live, helped by an archaeologist, an unforgettable experience discovering the two ancient cities and the culture of the Romans. Discover Capri and its beauty! We will meet at the Castellammare di Stabia boardwalks, the time to introduce ourselves and then sail towards the island of Love along and admiring the coast of the Sorrento peninsula. “the morning has gold in his mouth” and in fact, starting early (appointment at 08:00) we will have the opportunity to visit the famous Blue Grotto, we can admire its beautiful waters without long waits: I assure you that the scenery is truly crazy! The trip will continue and we will visit the other small caves of Capri: the White Cave, Green Cave and the Wonderful Cave. Then near Marina Piccola we will take a dip in the beautiful crystal clear waters and once refreshed you will have 3 hours of free time to continue admiring the beauty of Capri landing right on the island! Hop back onboard there will be time for a second bathroom. The experience ends by greeting the majestic Faraglioni returning to the port of Castellammare at about 5 pm. The hike includes a Caprese sandwich (tomato and mozzarella), water, non-alcoholic beverages and beer (included in the ticket). Al mattino ci incontreremo al porto davanti alla mia barca, il benvenuto sarà tipicamente napoletano con dolcetto e caffè tradizionali della nostra terra. Appena finito leveremo gli ormeggi per uscire dal porto, issero' le vele e ci troveremo nel magico mondo antico dove le barche si muovevano senza assordanti rumori di motore, solo sciabordio dello scafo e sibilo del vento. Veleggeremo così verso la nostra destinazione, la costiera Sorrentina. Lungo il tragitto vi mostrerò le bellezze del Golfo, primo fra tutti il Vesuvio visto dal mare, dallo stesso punto di vista utilizzato da Plinio il vecchio per descrivere la violenta eruzione del 79 d.c., e le sue perle, Capri, Ischia e Procida, e l'antica Partenope(Napoli). Quando saremo giunti in costiera affonderemo l'ancora e gli ospiti potranno godere il meraviglioso mare della costiera facendo il bagno in luoghi raggiungibili solo in barca a vela. Nel frattempo, preparerò di persona un sostanzioso aperitivo con prodotti locali e subito dopo il pranzo, sempre con pietanze tipicamente Napoletane. Dopo il pranzo ed un ulteriore bagno nelle acque blu della costiera, cominceremo a fare un progressivo rientro al porto sempre spinti dal favore della brezza Marina. Nel percorso di rientro sarà mia cura cercare di costeggiare, per quanto possibile, la linea della costiera Sorrentina per mostrarne bene le bellezze agli ospiti.
