Freedom Beach is one of the most peaceful and hidden beaches in Phuket, even though it is located very close to Patong. With its soft white sand, turquoise water, and lush tropical surroundings, it offers a truly stunning view. Despite being near Patong, the beach maintains a much quieter and more relaxing atmosphere. The beach can usually be reached by boat or via a steep walking path through the jungle. Because of this limited access, it has managed to remain more natural and unspoiled compared to many other beaches on the island. For guests who prefer to reach the beach by land, it is worth noting that the walking path can be quite steep and challenging. If you are not comfortable with a steep walk, taking a longtail boat from Patong is a much easier and more comfortable option to reach this beautiful bay. It is located about 15 minutes by car from the property and is a great choice for those looking to experience a more unique and special beach in Phuket.

Freedom Beach is one of Phuket’s best-kept secrets — a stunning, secluded cove just minutes from Tri-Trang Beach. With crystal-clear turquoise water, powdery white sand, and lush jungle-covered hills as a backdrop, it feels like a private paradise. Best Time to Visit Early morning (before 10am) for fewer crowds and the best light. High season runs November through April, when the sea is at its calmest and most vivid.

Phromthep Cape is the island's most photographed and perhaps best-known location. Every evening, large tour buses, scooters and private cars sweep through Rawai Beach and up the island's southernmost hill in order to watch the sunset at its peak. Phromthep also has a lighthouse that houses interesting historical maritime artifacts and commands spectacular views over the east and southeast of the island and its environs. If you go up to the outdoors viewing balcony you can see the distinctive shapes of the Phi Phi Islands, Koh Racha Yai and Koh Racha Noi on a clear day and of course a whole raft of nearer islands such as nearby Koh Kiaow with its Buddhist monastery.

Karon Viewpoint is one of the most frequented viewpoints in Phuket. Located between Nai Harn and Kata Noi beaches, it's busy most days of the year and a popular stop in many tour itineraries. From here, You can take in views of Kata Noi, Kata Yai and Karon beaches. Karon Viewpoint is located just to the south of Kata Noi Beach. It looks out directly out to the Andaman Sea, though most people have their cameras pointed north at the impressive 8-km vista of Phuket's 3 west coast beaches. Highlights of Karon Viewpoint The northern vista from Karon Viewpoint is one of the most photographed images in Phuket. This iconic outlook highlights the best of the island: sparkling blue sea, snow-white surf, white-sand beaches, an exotic nearby island (Koh Pu), and the deep-green hues of Phuket’s hillsides. Good to know about Karon Viewpoint There’s plenty of parking space at Karon Viewpoint, though many people simply park at the roadside when the area becomes too crowded. Breathtaking views of the bay, islands, and nearby beaches draw visitors to this scenic viewpoint near Promthep Cape in southern Phuket. Clear blue waters and postcard-worthy landscapes make it a popular spot for photography and sunsets. A small kiosk serves drinks and a shaded wooden pergola lets you relax while soaking in the scenery. Visitors say it gets busy later in the day, so early mornings are quieter and ideal for photos. A place where you get to select your own seafood and other assortments of fresh poultry and meat. You also have the selection to purchase the vegetables you want to eat along with your main course. What I love about this market is after you are done purchasing fresh local products, you then take it all upstairs where their are 15-20 stalls who will prepare your selection for you. Keep in mind that every stall has their own unique method and styles they use to cook the product. The combination is endless and you are only limited by your imagination. A beautiful 3km stretch of sand with a more sedate atmosphere than nearby Patong. A favorite for families with fine sands and a shallow bay, Kamala is perfect for body boarding, gentle surfing or simply relaxing beachside to take in the sea and sunset views.

Kamala Beach is a peaceful, family-friendly beach located just south of Surin. Fringed by casuarina trees and soft golden sand, it’s perfect for a relaxing day by the sea. The calm, clear waters are great for swimming, especially during high season, and the beachfront promenade offers casual restaurants, local shops, and laid-back cafés. Kamala is also home to the famous Phuket Carnival cultural theme park, making it a great stop for both daytime leisure and evening entertainment. Distance: 4.5 km

About 20 minutes from Sabai Kathu and well worth the trip. Karon is one of Phuket's three major beaches — longer and wider than Patong, with clearer water, softer sand, and far fewer tourists. It's the beach for guests who want space to breathe. Sun loungers are available for around 200–250 Baht for a full day, and late afternoon is the best time to visit for the spectacular sunsets Karon is famous for. Worth combining with a stop at Karon Viewpoint on the way back — it overlooks three beaches at once and the view is stunning. Watch the coloured flags in the water — red means no swimming.

Amy
From Amy's guidebook
One of the most beautiful beaches in Phuket and the closest to the property. It is only 900 meters away, about a 10-minute walk from the apartment. Karon Beach is famous for its long stretch of soft white sand and clear water. The beach is wide and rarely feels crowded, making it perfect for swimming, sunbathing, or watching the sunset.

Scott
From Scott's guidebook
I love this beach because it has several restaurants on the north side of the beach very close to us. The south side of the beach has one of my favorite places to eat. I do not recommend swimming here as it has a rip tide and many good swimmers have drowned here. Do not swim here if you see red flags along the beach from June to November.

Bang Tao Beach is perfect for those who love a relaxing and peaceful beach getaway. Just a 10-minute walk from our condo, this beautiful stretch of coastline is one of the longest and most pristine beaches in Phuket, spanning over 6 kilometers. • Soft, white sand: Perfect for long walks, building sandcastles, or simply relaxing under the sun. • Calm waters: Gentle waves make it ideal for swimming and safe for families with young kids. • Stunning sunsets: Enjoy breathtaking sunset views every evening – a great moment to capture beautiful photos. • Fun activities: Try paddleboarding, kayaking, or snorkeling, or simply unwind at a beachfront café or bar. • Tranquil yet convenient: Quieter and more laid-back than Patong, but still close to restaurants, shops, and local attractions.

Bangtao Beach is only 2 km from the Lake House, the closest beaches from the villa and you can drive there in 10 min. You can bring the beach towels provided by the villa. Bangtao Beach is one of Phuket’s longest beaches at 6 km (4 miles) in length. In front of the Laguna hotels there are beach shacks set up by locals that sell everything from snacks and drinks to beachwear to tours. There are many local restaurants set up on the beach to the north of the Angsana Laguna Resort to the south of Outrigger Laguna. In the high season (November to April) paragliding, waterskiing and banana boats are available. Jetskiing is also available. Horse riding is a perfect beach activity. Offered by Bangtao Riding Club, located near to the entrance to Laguna. My fave restaurants are Lazy Coconut, Beach Pig and Beach Cuisine for watching the waves lapping up onto the lower seated area.

Jane
From Jane's guidebook
The 3-lined shore of Bang Tao Beach is an attraction in itself. It is 6 km long and the second longest beach on Phuket’s west coast after Mai Khao Beach. Bang Tao Beach has luxurious central area, popular southern side and a secluded and tranquil northern end. Bangtao hosts some of the most magnificent hotels and resorts in the Laguna Phuket Complex, and apart from the beach itself, most of the attractions available in the area are in fact activities aimed at the entertainment of the numerous vacationers coming to Bangtao. Try beach living and relax in popular Dream Beach Club or Catch Beach Club or Xana Beach Club, have fun in Anthem Wake Park or drive to Splash Jungle Aqua Park (around 15-20 min). For a company with kids (and not only) we recommend to visit Phuket Adventure Mini Golf.

15 min drive from Lake House. Surin Beach is one of Thailand's most famous beaches. With perfect white sand and clear turquoise water it is a must-visit place when in Phuket. The beach's calm and beautiful waters are also ideal for snorkelling, kayaking, boogie boarding, and surfing. The best restaurant is Tukta Food & Drink, built on the rocks at the very south of the beach, just below the not directly on the sand. The food is good and well-priced, and the view is beautiful.

Very beautiful but small beach. Like most of the beaches on the west coast, the back of the beach is lined with tall pine trees and a beautiful shady path that can get you to one side of the beach or the other. The beach itself has very soft white sand, but like most of the other beaches in Phuket, there is quite a bit of trash at the high tide line. The beach slopes fairly steeply into the water. Wading is ok, but I swam in the water, and there is a strong rip current that wants to take you out. I am a strong swimmer, but definitely don’t let young kids in the water, as the beach is exposed to the open ocean. There are a few little areas with umbrellas and chairs that you can rent for a minimal price. We went to Aubrey and the people were very friendly and would go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and safe. Food and drinks were reasonably priced, and they have a little tuk tuk that can get you back to the main parking lot if it starts to rain.

Kata Noi Beach Best for: Guests looking for a clean, calm, and beautiful beach; couples; peaceful beach days; and those who want a beach close to Karon but with a more special feeling. Distance from the apartment: A few kilometers after Kata Beach. It can be reached by motorbike or car. Best time to visit: Morning or early afternoon. Kata Noi Beach is located just after Kata Beach and is surrounded by large 5-star hotels. Like all beaches in Thailand, it is public and free to use. Compared to Karon and Kata, this area feels a little more organized and peaceful. Because there are large hotels along the beach, the beach is usually kept clean. For this reason, it is one of our favorite beaches close to the apartment, and it is also one of the beaches we personally use often for swimming. The sea, sand, and general atmosphere of Kata Noi are really enjoyable. The large rocks at the southern end of the beach can also help create a calmer swimming area on some wavy days. So even when the sea is more active, you may find a more protected spot there. Host note: Kata Noi is one of our favorite nearby beaches. We often choose it ourselves when we want to swim. It feels cleaner, calmer, and more special than Karon. If you want a peaceful and beautiful beach day, I definitely recommend it. Good to know: Restaurants, cafés, and shopping options are more limited compared to Karon and Kata. If you plan to stay for a long time, it is a good idea to bring water, towels, sunscreen, and your basic needs. Parking can also be difficult at some times of the day.

Patong Beach, or Patong Beach, is one of the liveliest beaches in Phuket, with its soft sand, clear water, and gentle waves. This crescent-shaped beach is a great place for swimming and various water activities. Kata Beach diving is easily Thailand's premiere macro diving destination. If you're into macro diving and photography, you don't need to go to Anilao or Raja Ampat or pay for lengthy, crowded boat trips to remote locations to see amazing sea life, it's all conveniently right here at Kata Beach. The best time to dive at Kata is between October to May, when the surface conditions and visibility are at their best. As a diving destination, Kata Beach (north) is actually quite spread out and can be broken down into numerous, smaller dive sites; the reef, the cubes, the sand, and the corner. It is possible to spend a whole day diving at Kata and still not see all it has to offer; divers who have been diving at Kata on a regular basis for years are still finding new critters! Divers can avoid expensive boat trips to remote destinations throughout the diving season, different creatures move in to different areas at different times; no two dives on Kata are ever the same. During the diving season, diving at Kata Beach is good all throughout the day; at both high tide and low tide, as well as at night. In the early morning, the visibility tends to be better which makes diving in the sand much easier and also reduces the risks posed by boat traffic which tends to pick up around 10am. The sandy area is also the deepest dive site at Kata so recommended as the first dive of the day. Later in the day, around mid-morning, nudibranchs tend to be more active and easier to find, in the evening's octopus and cuttlefish are more commonly seen. On the more exposed sites, particularly out in the sand and on the corner, current can affect the dive and needs to be taken into consideration. Depending on your level of experience and comfort, it is possible to dive in the current or take shelter from conditions closer to the reef.
