Eat your way through Osaka! Food Tour
This 3hr long walking tour involves 6 food stops and a little sightseeing that covers many iconic landmarks and hidden spots along with the history behind them. You will try several kinds of unique food loved by locals in Osaka for decades. You’ll also have 2 types of desserts (one traditional & one contemporary “traditional”) from the most popular confectionaries favored by locals. I will explain the background of each food you’ll try and link it to Osaka or Japan more broadly. Through this culinary experience, you will certainly come to understand the character of Osaka. And I also guarantee that you'll be full before leaving the tour as said in the proverb Kuidaore! *Food Allergies & Restrictions Osaka is known as the kingdom of carb-rich food. All the food provided on this tour contains wheat flour or fish based broth. For those on a gluten-free or vegan diet, this tour is not suitable. Also, please be advised that this tour cannot accommodate anyone with severe food allergies that can cause illness or life threatening situations. This is because dietary issues are not very common in Japan, and many restaurants and food shops are not aware of cross contamination / contact and thus cross contamination CANNOT be avoided. **Daytime version You'll get a Wagyu beef skewer instead of Sushi. Other things to note Osaka is known as the kingdom of carb-rich food, so most local food is made from WHEAT FLOUR. Also, many traditional dishes in Japan use a FISH based broth. BOTH are included on the tour.

Treasue Hunting, Flea market in Osaka & Kyoto
Visit antique flea markets in Osaka and Kyoto. Have you ever had the most trouble visiting a Japanese flea market with only foreigners? Communication! Most shopkeepers do not understand English. Also, some shopkeepers will overcharge foreigners, or some refuse to sell (especially it occurs at antique flea markets). With a Japanese guide, you can avoid these troubles. At the antique market, you can find Japanese swords (with registration certificates), old coins as well as Chinese and Korean antiques. In Japan, the flea market is held on a fixed date and we can’t choose the date freely. But anyway...It's fun to find your own favorite items from a pile of junk. Buy at an affordable price by negotiating the price. I will help you for that. ■Antique flea market info (A rain-or-shine event). Nara Cycling along River into DeerPark
It's beautiful & fresh cycling along the river, which no tourists visit, and we go through local Japanese neighborhood districts, which are beautiful, cozy, and quiet. Especially hidden gems in Nara, cycling along the Saho river, which only local people visit :) With fewer tourists, no cars, and no stress, you'll get a relaxed feeling from a busy Osaka/Kyoto stay. And in Nara park, beside the crowded and busy Todaiji-big Buddha (600yen entrance fee), few people go up to Nigatsudo hall on the hill. This is because the view from the Nigatsu-do hall is just breathtakingly beautiful. But you've got to ride your bicycle up there. So it's a little bit of exercise. We can feed the deer in Nara park while we go cycling around. I'll get the deer crackers for you :) And I'll take some lovely group photos of you while cycling. I'm an excellent selfie photographer! From Nigatsudo hall to the station, it's all the way downhill. But it's an easy way back! We'll get our raincoats and walk around the park if it rains hard. (We ride buses between the station and the park.) There is a sake brewery in town, and we can try Sake tasting if you want. (500yen Extra charge) Other things to note Please make sure that you can ride bicycles very well. Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes for cycling. Please bring your cap or hat to prevent health problems caused by heat strokes.

Explore Deep Osaka with Local Delicious Dinner Option
We will explore the non touristic areas of Shinsekai & Nishinari where you'll lift the veil of "perfect Japan" and get a real, honest & deep understanding of how Osaka really functions!! NOTE: I would NOT recommend this tour to all.....If you ARE intrepid, well travelled & seeking an unfiltered side of Osaka, this is for you:) First we'll get a taste of retro Osaka. Be transported back in time to a Japan barely recognizable: jump into retro video game palors, old fashioned markets & more. After, you'll see how the locals entertain & get entertained by night: From unique only in Japan games, to crazy fishing restaurants to a peek at Osakan theatre. Here eat at 2 stalls, trying 2 local delicious side dishes/snacks. This area is home to some of the most amazing back alleys you will ever see. There you'll breath & interact with local gatherings feeling the energy & history that is profound. A stones throw away you'll discover an area with untouched, abandoned properties...forming an incredible ambiance in the middle of the city: A surreal experience! NOTE: This tour exposes taboo topics such as: Yakuza, sexism, war, illegal gambling, prostitution, illcit businesses, pachinko, homelessness, welfare system etc...we'll tell you the history, making it ALL relevant! Finally, you'll have the option to eat a full dinner at a tasty restaurant after the tour has finished Other things to note Please bring decent shoes (we will walk at a medium pace on flat ground for 2.5hrs). Also be prepared to eat a lot of delicious food.....we will go to 2 stalls. If you want to come to the dinner after the tour finishes please join us.
Hotspots & Hidden Gems of Osaka
We'll introduce you to both the highlights and secret spots of Osaka, paired with stories about each and every one of them. Get tons of recommendations of my favourite places to eat, and what else to see, so get ready to dive deep into Osaka-ben culture! You will also get an insightful understanding of everyday Japanese customs, including topics that local guides may not be comfortable letting visitors know about, so please ask me any questions! Slip through the non-touristy bar zones of Osaka, and even get a glimpse of a Yakuza clubhouse. We'll check out a traditional food market where top chefs continue to shop at everyday (daytime tours only). We'll contrast that by ducking into quiet cobblestoned back alleys to uncover a mystic temple and its centuries-old history. Be prepared for a sensory overload as we navigate wacky larger-than-life billboards highlighting modern Japanese culture. You'll get to hear plenty of interesting stories about Osaka along the way & get some fantastic photo opportunities. On night tours, you'll be dazzled by the retrograde neon all over the city and the exciting nightlife that Osaka is so famous for. This tour is known for exposing the contrasting faces of Osaka! Create Chewy Udon & Soup from scratch
You'll learn how to make both the most delicious udon and dashi in Japan from scratch, and enjoy the udon with two ways of eating such as hot udon and the chilled one. We have various kinds of udon in Japan, and each region has original udon actually. The udon you'll make is the most famous and the most popular in Japan because of its elasticity. You'll use not only hands but also feet to make udon strong chewy. This is the traditional recipe, but only this udon. And also, you'll learn how to make Osaka-style Japanese soup stock. Umami comes from the Osaka soup stock culture, and the Osaka-style broth is the most delicious. We chose this best combination so that you could enjoy the best udon in Japan. And more, You'll learn how to make one more side dish using the leftover ingredients after filtering soup. We're sure that you will be amazed at its deliciously as well as SDGs idea. We use high-quality ingredients and seasonings so that you can enjoy the best Udon dishes in this experience. In the process of boiling the udon noodles, the udon noodles are not boiled individually. We boil the udon noodles of all the guests together. If you do not prefer this way, please make a reservation for private. If you have any allergies or food restrictions, please let me know in advance. I'll prepare for you separately. Please come in casual clothes which you'd not mind getting dirty.
