Cycling through Old Holland's countryside with windmills
You will set off in a small group by bike through Amsterdam's best-kept secret, the Westzijderveld. This area, with wet meadows that lie just above, or even below, the water table, is a paradise for meadow birds. A farm landscape with long ditches, pollard-willows and cows, turning mills and swaying reed beds is . An example of a truly typical Dutch landscape.
When you cycle over the dike, you feel the wind blowing and you look almost beyond the horizon, where the windmills are turning. You visit a working windmill, where you can experience the power of a windmill yourself. The miller will also be happy to answer your questions. This area is only accessible by bike, there are no groups of tourists here and it is therefore a unique experience.
Next, you will cycle through an authentic neighborhood with working-class houses. You will see with your own eyes how people used to live there and also pass the rich merchant houses with their beautiful decorations.
Finally you will visit the Zaanse Schans, where you will see how they make clogs and there is extensive opportunity to taste the Dutch cheese delicacy.
A great opportunity to experience the dutch landscape, history and culture.
During the tulip season 2022 (28/03 - 01/05), visit the blooming flower fields by bike:

Slow Food - Dutch paintings & cuisine
We are going to visit the Rijksmuseum and seeing the best 30-40 culinary paintings (depending on what is available) within 90 minutes.
I tell you everything you want about these paintings and Dutch cuisine, as I am an official ambassador of Dutch cuisine.
Afterwards we walk to the traditional Cafe Welling and enjoy there the Amsterdam ox sausage, artisanal Gouda cheese and mustard and pickles, the so-called Amsterdam Table Sour with the Amsterdam yellow cucumbers and onions. It is said that Van Gogh got his inspiration for his Yellow Sun Flowers when he ate the bright yellow Amsterdam cucumber. We end with traditional eau de vie distillery made by Lubberhuizen, the owner of the brown cafe. One of these is made of cherry plums, also included in the Ark of Taste. On a painting of Van Ruysdael one can see a boat with 2 white-headed cows. These Blaarkop (Blisterhead) cattle (also included in the Ark of Taste) was once the motor behind the Dutch Golden Age. First they made the buttermilk with which sheets were bleached on the meadows, later on from them the milk butter and Leyden artisanal cheese with cumin was produced because it could be held longer on the VOC (Dutch East India Company) ships to the far east. When this cattle became old they were fed with the left over of the Schiedam gin (jenever) industry and masted.
Other things to note
We will meet below the bicycle passage under the Rijksmuseum.
