If you are looking for a larger shopping center, Gorredijk (known for Rinsma modeplein) Sportstad/Thialf Heerenveen, Drachten, Leeuwarden, and Sneek are also easy to drive to.

In an oasis of peace, hidden among greenery in a very nice large garden, with lovely covered seating area stands this "Lovely Quiet Cottage". Proximity to Diever and Dwingeloo.
