In 2026, it will once again host contests in each of the three rounds in 2026, culminating with the Championship Game. Just across the street from the beach at the northern end of South Beach is The Bass, a contemporary art museum that completely reinvented itself in 2017 after a two-plus-year, $12 million renovation by architects Arata Isozaki and David Gauld. The exhibition space is now twice as large—they've added four new galleries, space for educational events, a museum store, and a café. It’s a perfect rainy day activity (and if the sun comes back out, you don’t have far to go to soak up some rays). What is it? A sleepy residential enclave less than a mile, Surfside exudes a small beach town vibe. Everyone knows each other and there's a true neighborhood feeling to the town. Why go? Every first Friday of the summer months there’s a communal beach picnic that happens on the sand near the lifeguard station on 93rd. It’s mostly residents who gather to listen to music, feast and participate in kid-friendly activities.

Everglades National Park is the largest subtropical wilderness in the United States, with 1.5 million acres of wetland. That’s more than 2,300 square miles. This gigantic wetland is a natural habitat for thousands of alligators, snakes, birds, the Florida panther and other wild creatures. WARNINGS: •Visit the Everglades National Park website and call to verify if the visitor centers, hiking trails and rest stops are open before your trip. •Check the weather before you do anything. This area is extremely seasonal and water can rise. You don’t want to be stuck in the middle of The Everglades. •If going on a wet walk (water can be waist high), it is recommended that you have a hiking stick to poke the trail ahead of you, wear your regular tennis shoes since high boots would fill with water and become too heavy to walk in and have plenty of Zip-loc bags for your stuff. •If hiking during hunting season, wear a lightweight, blaze-orange vest. You can buy these at any sporting goods store. The last thing you want is to get hunted. •Besides the obvious of not littering, don’t throw away any fruits or vegetables that aren’t native to the area. The Everglades already has enough non-native plants and species damaging the natural ecosystem. It doesn’t need more, so don’t throw away your apple, avocado or whatever you’re snacking on.

The Everglades is a vast subtropical wilderness area in South Florida, spanning over 1.5 million acres of wetlands, marshes, and forests. It is a unique and fragile ecosystem that is home to a diverse range of plant and animal species, including many that are found nowhere else in the world. The Everglades is often called the "River of Grass" because it is dominated by sawgrass marshes and shallow water that slowly flows from Lake Okeechobee to the Gulf of Mexico. The ecosystem supports a variety of plant life, including cypress trees, mangroves, and various species of palms. It is also home to a variety of wildlife, such as the endangered Florida panther, American alligator, and many species of birds, fish, and reptiles. The Everglades is also an important source of water for the surrounding area, providing drinking water and supporting agricultural and industrial activities. However, the ecosystem is under threat due to human activity, including drainage and development, which have disrupted the natural flow of water and led to the loss of habitat for many species. To protect the Everglades, several conservation efforts have been undertaken, including the establishment of the Everglades National Park in 1947. The park offers visitors the opportunity to explore the unique ecosystem through hiking, boating, and other outdoor activities. Visitors can also learn about the history and culture of the area at the park's museums and visitor centers.

Culture and history meet industry and entertainment in Downtown Miami. Greater Miami is synonymous with beautiful beaches and towering palm trees – but in its urban center, it’s the cityscape of glittering skyscrapers over Biscayne Bay that gets all the attention. Diverse, dynamic and densely populated, Downtown Miami and the adjoining Brickell area is a hub of international finance, dining, arts and entertainment that no visitor should miss. Despite its modern façade, this neighborhood has its roots firmly planted in the past, springing up along the banks of what is now known as the Miami River. Miami’s first development boom started here in the 1900s, and icons such as the DuPont Building (Miami’s only Art Deco skyscraper) and the Freedom Tower (where Cuban refugees were processed for entry into the U.S.) were raised in the following years. Today, the Freedom Tower is home to the Museum of Art and Design (MOAD) at Miami Dade College. Downtown Miami’s newest architectural icons – which do double duty as popular entertainment venues – include the contemporary art-focused Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM); the American Airlines Arena (home to the NBA’s Miami HEAT); and the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science, which houses an aquarium and a 250-seat planetarium. Visitors can easily get around Downtown Miami’s compact core using CitiBikes, scooters and the Metromover (a free, air-conditioned elevated train). It winds through Brickell – where the shops at Brickell City Centre and Mary Brickell Village entice – and heads north to attractions such as the waterfront green spaces at Maurice A. Ferré Park and Bayfront Park, and to the shops at Bayside Marketplace, where the nearly 200-foot-high Skyviews Miami observation wheel offers panoramic views of Biscayne Bay. Bayside is also a hub for sightseeing bus tours and boat tours, which take passengers through the bay islands, fringed with palatial waterfront homes, many of them celebrity-owned. Of course, a day of exploration requires fuel, and this neighborhood brims with appetizing options for lunch, happy hour and dinner. Dine at Area 31 Brickell on the 16th floor of the Kimpton EPIC Hotel or at La Mar by Gastón Acurio on the terrace of the Mandarin Oriental, Miami on Brickell Key, with spectacular views of Biscayne Bay and the skyline.

Also known as the financial district, Brickell is popular with many transplants who move to Miami from other cities and countries. The area’s best-kept secrets include Sidebar and Blackbird Ordinary for drinks (Tuesday is ladies night at Blackbird); La Moon for when you have the munchies after drinking; and El Tucan, which is a fun and lively cabaret that offers a dinner menu and out-of-this-world drinks, as well as a show.
