Carpool to Olympia Feb. 12th to implore PolicyMakers to not charge exorbitant fees to Airbnb Hosts in WA State.
Hi everyone! I went down to a Senate committee meeting in Olympia this past week to support an initiative on allowing Tiny Houses and dwelling units to legally exist within WA State. As far as I can tell it is going to be passed to the House next, and then Inslee's desk for approval, hopefully by this Summer! Yay!
I am also a 8.5 year Airbnb host and Airbnb just sent an email about a committee meeting in Olympia next week, Tuesday Feb. 12th at 1pm, to implore PolicyMakers not to charge exorbitant fees of up to $1000 per day to Airbnb hosts who aren't in full compliance with license fees etc. I think it's VERY important and actually beneficial for some of us to head down there to support this and those that wish to testify their own personal thoughts or stories are able to as well! I can drive, and will ask for gas money, and we can all meet at the south end of Northgate mall where you can park your car for free for the day in the new 3 story garage just south of JCPenney's. Please feel free to email me and I have space for 4 additional people in my SUV.
We MUST leave by 11am as parking down in Olympia is a bit difficult!
Bring snacks and we can grab a quick bite after the meeting, before driving back to Seattle. There are a few sandwich shops right in the area there.
Thanks! Trishann C.
