Hike Calanques National Park in Marseille
Hiking is certainly the best way to discover, understand and enjoy the Calanques National Park. You will walk with an expert guide that will make you discover this small massif along the French Riviera, between Marseille and Cassis, barely 20 km long and 3 km wide. If you want to sneak out of the city and get back to nature for a while, you couldn’t ask for a better location. Soaring white cliffs, azure-blue coves, limestone cliffs other the sea and small beaches Calanques Park is a little paradise. Our experience will start at the university campus of Luminy, About 45 minutes long, is one of the superlative views of the Mediterranean at Belvédère de Sugiton. At 1,500 feet almost vertically above the shimmering Mediterranean sea, the views from here overlooking the dramatic shoreline and the calanques of Morgiou and Sugiton are some of the best in the Mediterranean. Sugiton, following a well-maintained trail down, is a perfect place for a packed lunch. The sea twinkles turquoise and invites a swim while the sun against the white rocks and beaches begs relaxation. Then we will follow our way to the less visited coves of Morgiou, Triperie and Sormiou. In the last part, we will have to climb back to Luminy campus where you can take a bus, uber, taxi or public bike to go back to city center. This activity is suitable for family (more than 8 years or used to hike. Babies can be carry in a backpack). Other things to note There is no water or snack on our way so you must take a lot with you (A refilable water bottle is suggested as Marseille water has great quality. One fount at the beginning of the path). We can lend you a backpack. I also recommand you to bring a picnic (I can prepare it on demand), cap, swimming suit, good walking shoes, sunglasses, camera

Explore a magnificient and unknown neighborhood of Marseille
In Marseille, you have tourist attractions as "le Vieux Port", Notre Dame de La Garde, la Canebière, les Calanques, the Stadium but you have also magnificent, really unknown and silent areas just next to the center of the city ! All the photos you can see, have been taken about 15 minutes far from the Vieux Port ! Leaving from Vallon des Auffes, we'll follow the all too often noisy and polluted "Corniche" by going through back roads. We'll pass at the edge of rocky coves less busy than beaches, and discover secret gardens, picturesque cottages, abandoned sculptures and old mansions by walking along green paths and banisters through a lush vegetation. A gorgeous route that only some insiders know about, if they live in the area ! For photography lovers or just for the pleasure, we'll take meditative breaks when arriving at the wonderful view spots over Marseilles natural bay. Of course I'll tell you about the history of this district and its evolution with the rise of the real estate and the arrival of « famous people ». After three hours power-walking (ascending and descending quite a few stairs !), we'll access to a little piece of heaven overhanging the sea.A guaranteed change of scenery ! Come with me to discover an other Marseille ! Other things to note WATCH OUT ! You need to be in good shape for this kind of walk. When we finish, I'll take you to the bus stop (number 83) close to the Prophète's beach or you can rent a city bike or scooter nearby.

Catamaran sail ride in the heart of Calanques National Park
Come and sail through the bay of Marseille and to the heart of Parc des Calanques ! Wind, sea state and traffic will dictate the pace and itinerary to reach a nice mooring . You will appreciate the breathtaking landscape, the comfort of the boat and the friendship spirit. We'll enjoy swimming and lunch, SUP, snorkeling and sometimes cliff jumping if you wish ! The afternoon will be devoted to chill out and/or some more sailing on the way back to port… Please bring a small amount of food and drink you'd like to share with the others. So will I. Don't forget sun protection (cream, glasses, cap, (windproof) hat, ...), swimwear and towels. You'll be able to rinse off with fresh water after getting out of the water… Please note : This is not a "tick that postcard" tour with specific places visited but a sailing trip under sail where slow pace, contemplation and awareness are privileged. It's a "let's go sailing as friends in Marseille would" proposition. Your disposition to be aware of the environment in the shade of the sails, in silence and to meet people on board, will also make the difference. We like to meet foreigners, talk or stay alone but we all love Med blue waters, sun, nature and fine food. Come ! We'd rather be sailing !

Hike to Notre Dame Basilica by secret trails
We are going to climb to the Basilica of Notre Dame de la Garde to contemplate the whole city. But to get to the top of this hill, we will take hiking trails and very uncrowded stairs, amid gardens and splendid 19th and 20th century villas. The neighborhoods we will cross are located in the 7th arrondissement of Marseille, certainly the most charming in the whole city (and unfortunately the most expensive in terms of real estate ). You have to live in its neighboorhoods to know all the crossroads, the stairs, the incredible views, the hidden shortcuts and the secret trails. I w'll tell you the story of this very old and very complex town. I worked at the city hall for years, so I know this town and the inhabitants quite well ! Once arrived on the spot, we will be able to contemplate the city all around us. A stunning view ! I love to talk and share with my hosts. My first experience Airbnb (discover an unknown Marseille) is very successful... Welcome in Marseille ! You are going to sweat and be intellectually enriched !

Calanque bleue by train swim
- Go to Saint Charles station because it is by train that we will reach the coves of the blue coast through tunnels and viaducts. - We reach the small port of Ensues la Redonne at the start of the customs path which we cover to reach the beach of Figuiére and its almost perfect cove. Swimming in blue waters. - We continue towards the double cove of Mejean and its micro village. - This is where the wild coast begins with its cliffs and superb marine reefs. We arrive at the cove of Everine facing the island of the same name. The place is ideal for mask and snorkelling, among the most beautiful seabed in the region. - Finally it is the Jonquier cove and its turquoise waters to arrive at the small port of Niolon clinging to the cliff, perfect place for a refreshment before taking our little train back to its improbable station. Other things to note It is better to know how to swim, take enough water! Otherwise the ride does not require special skills, the cumulative elevation positive / negative is around 350 meters more a long ride than a hike. Fans of organic green clay baths with sea salt will be delighted!
