The Manila Cathedral was built in 1581 near the Citadel of Santiago and is the main building of the Catholic Archdiocese of Manila. The church has experienced constant damage from typhoons, earthquakes and wars, and the building is now rebuilt for the sixth time. The weather-beaten Romanesque architecture and elegant dome are quaint. In front of the church is the Plaza de Roma, which used to be the bullring, and next to it is the ruins of the city hall. The carriage will pass by the church from time to time, adding a strong sense of simplicity. Outside the church, the cathedral has a magnificent ornate appearance. Three huge arches are located above the steps.

Richard
From Richard's guidebook
One of the most grand standing, majestically designed churches in the Philippines, and perhaps one of the most admired within the Catholic community, the Manila Cathedral has gone through generations and has stood since the Spanish Colonial Era.

Rey
From Rey's guidebook
The cathedral was originally a parish church in Manila under the Archdiocese of Mexico in 1571, until it became a separate diocese on February 6, 1579, upon the issuance of the papal bull Illius Fulti Præsido by Pope Gregory XIII. The cathedral was damaged and destroyed several times since the original structure was built in 1581 while the eighth and current structure of the cathedral was completed in 1958. The basilica has merited a papal endorsement from Pope Gregory XIII and three apostolic visits from Pope Paul VI, Pope John Paul II and Pope Francis. On April 27, 1981, Pope John Paul II issued papal bull Quod Ipsum designating the cathedral as a minor basilica by his own motu proprio. The Minor Basilica and Metropolitan Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, also known as the Manila Cathedral, is a minor basilica located in Intramuros, the historic walled city within today's modern city of Manila, Philippines. It is the cathedral church of the Archdiocese of Manila, dedicated to the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary as the Patroness of the country.

The zoo is more organized, more family friendly and it's clean as well. Though it's noticeable that some animals are missing/ not present compare to what they advertise in zoo pics. Among those animals are giraffe, hyena, hippopotamus, bleeding-heart dove, monkey (there's only one species present in the zoo while they're advertising more than it) to name few. But of course, for sure there's some fairly explanations about the absence of the said animals. It's also noticeable how little the presence of butterflies in 'the butterfly garden'. There are more preserved butterflies compare to the living/ flying butterflies around the garden.
