Discover London’s scenic Hampstead Heath through the poems and life of John Keats, a poet I’ve dedicated much of my career to exploring. • We’ll start at Keats’ house and walk around his gardens, which are beautifully preserved by the Keats Society. • Next, we’ll venture out onto the Heath, the patch of nature that inspired not only Keats but also T.S. Eliot, Virginia Woolf, Francis Bacon, and many other writers and artists. • Finally, we’ll end up at one of Keats’ old haunts: The Flask, a picturesque 1663 pub with a history full of highwaymen, strange initiation rites, and ghosts—in other words, the perfect setting for a poetry workshop. I’ll help you write a poem of your own, inspired by the beauty of the Heath. You’ll leave with your own poetry as well as a zine created to remember your time in Hampstead Heath.

Discover Non-touristy & Secret London with a City Planner

London is only truly experienced when you venture off the well-worn tourist track so that you can see, hear and feel the place the same way a local does. Only then will you get close to the true essence, to the true heart, to the very fabric of the place you are in and have an experience like no other. We are going to leave the touristy mainstream London to the side and explore its unseen and authentic neighbourhoods outside the centre because this is where the ordinary Londoners acutally live their everyday lives. We delve into London's modern and pioneering urban history to understand its current challenges as well as future developments. Despite the length of six hours the tour does not feel too exhausting and time will fly. In between, you can also sit and relax for a bit while we travel by bus and train. My London safari can easily be made weatherproof if you dress warmly enough and bring an umbrella if necessary. Some places are partially covered and in bad or cold weather, the 30-min lunch break can be taken in an indoor market. START: Paddington railway station (West London) FINISH: Canada Water station (East London) or Waterloo railway station (close to Central London). Discover London's Canals by Kayak

** AGES 18+ ONLY ** When you arrive at The Pirate Castle, you'll meet your instructor guide and be given a buoyancy aid to put on. We'll then give a short safety talk and show you the basics on how to use your paddle and control your kayak. You'll get into your boat (we'll help if you're wobbly!) and once everyone is on the water we'll practise some basic paddle strokes before heading off on a gentle tour that weaves along the prettiest stretch of the Regent's Canal towards London Zoo, then back to Camden's famous lock and The Pirate Castle. This experience is 1.5 hours long (including kitting up/briefings). All tours depart from/return to The Pirate Castle. The pace and distance travelled will vary for each tour as your instructor guide needs to keep all members of the group together for safety. Novices and more experienced paddlers welcome! Our kayaks are suitable for weights up to 110Kg. Canoes are available for paddlers up to 300Kg or two people wishing to paddle together. Please wear something comfy for kayaking that you don't mind getting splashed. You must also need wear suitable footwear (old trainers or securely fitting sandals). NO SWIMWEAR, FLIP-FLOPS or CROCS! Kayaking is a watersport, so we'll go ahead even if it's raining. We only cancel tours in the event of thunder and lightning due to potential risks, in which case we'll discuss available options.

This tour will guide curious visitors along a fun and often surprising narrative to discover the beauty of ancient civilisations and to come up close to staggering works of art. There are hidden mythologies, art, mysticism, and history galore. There are also current debates in regards to some artefacts on display. Some of the stories involve violent colonial exchanges, some involve looting, others involve questionable practices of ownership. I try to explain their arrival at the museum and update on their complicated status. Knowing about these stories generates constructive discussion of the issues involved, and I try to cover all points of view and invite my guests to share theirs. This is walk to discuss about all this together on a two hour tour. Join me in the British Museum for a Bible study tour in which the Bible comes alive as we connect museum artifacts to Bible verses. We’ll wind our way through the various galleries and see the world of Egypt as Joseph and Moses experienced it, Assyria as Jonah encountered it, Babylon as Daniel saw it and Persia as Esther and Nehemiah lived it. We’ll explore the Roman Empire in which Jesus lived and the Greek culture that the Apostle Paul preached against. Due to the museum layout, we'll first walk through the Assyrian, Egyptian and Greek galleries on the ground floor. Each artifact we examine dates from the time period of a significant Biblical character. We take a break and then go upstairs to see the Roman, Greek, Persian, Babylonian and Mesopotamian galleries as time allows and your preference dictates. Not only will you come face to face with ancient artifacts that are thousands of years old but you’ll understand your Bible like never before. You’ll have a much better grasp of the history of ancient Israel as well as the cultural forces that affected the birth and growth of Christianity. Photography is allowed so make sure you have plenty of phone memory.
