Roma Centro

This overtly historical neighborhood lets you experience the past while staying firmly rooted in the present.

Also known as "Centro Storico," Roma Centro is a modern city magically overlaid onto the memory of past glory. A postcard-publisher's dream, this neighborhood is crammed with Rome’s most famous classical sights. Unlike next-door Campitelli, Roma Centro doesn’t feel like a museum. Fabulously dressed street musicians and bright, airy markets flourish in the shadow of the Colosseum, while every journey through the area's tangled, narrow back street brings travelers to a hidden trattoria or surprising boutique shop.
