Kennington’s social fabric consists of coarse strands that, when woven together, result in cushy tapestries. This central London neighborhood may be mostly residential, but it brims with cultural establishments that stand out against its sturdy, traditional stock brick houses. Home to the Imperial War Museum, The Cinema Museum, Beefeater Gin’s distillery, and a lush park known as a site for public protests, Kennington keeps two fingers on the energetic pulse of London.See places to stay Save this neighborhood
A Neighborhood Rising In Recognition
... would highly recommend the flat to anyone that wanted a nice quiet neighbourhood to retreat to after being in the hustle and bustle of downtown London."

Home to The Oval
The location was perfect, nice walk along the river to the Eye / Big Ben, or only a minute or so walk from the tube stop. Perfect place for a stay in London."

Kennington's Commuter Conveniences
There isn't anywhere in central London that you couldn't get to in 15-30 minutes. The direct vicinity area feels safe and friendly and has plenty of places to pick up any staples."

Airbnb works with local photographers to capture the spirit of neighborhoods all around the world. The photography on this page includes work by:
Oliver Knight is a freelance photographer who divides his time between two bases in Paris and London. Upon graduation from Camberwell College of the Arts he began shooting for a number of editorial clients. A decade later he has harboured numerous long standing professional relationships regularly shooting editorial features for magazines, travel guides and inflight publications. When not behind the camera he enjoys cycles along the French coast and watching the world go by from his favourite cafe terraces with a cup of tea close at hand.
Sophie Carr is a London-based freelance travel photographer who specialises in landscapes and cities. Her love of travel has taken her to many far-flung parts of the world, but home will always be London. Brought up near London, she has lived in the city for almost 20 years, and loves to explore its varied neighborhoods. She loved shooting her home city for Airbnb, and hopes her photos will encourage visitors to come to her local neighborhoods.
