MAC is super near the apartment. It is a museum inside a park where you can chill and either have a picnic or just enjoy an afternoon of chilling on the grass, reading a book or enjoying a drink. Avenida Pedro de Osma 141: Set in a gorgeous, historic home, this museum displays the collection of the philanthropist Don Pedro de Osma. For most of his life, until his death in 1967, he collected art made in Peru during the fifteenth through the eighteenth centuries, objects such as: paintings, sculptures, altar decorations, silverwork, sculptures in Huamanga stone, and furniture – originating from diverse centers of traditional Andean artistic creation – especially Cusco and Ayacucho. The home itself is as much an attraction as the collection; finished in 1906, it’s an elegant and eclectic piece of architecture.

I love the livliness of this park and it's festivities! It's located in the heart of Miraflores and displays local art and jewelry. Often times there will be live music outdoors, singing, and dancing. It's a fun time! It's great place for a dinner, desert, pastries or ice cream, and entertainment. Kennedy Park is also known as a cat park. You will notice a variety of different types of cats that live throughout the park. Some are shy or playful, and some remain very still to the point they look like statues. Although the cats do not have a home, they are well taken care of. They are fed daily, groomed, and even taken to the vet for care-all done by the locals. It is shocking that a documentary hasn't been written about this arrangement that has been going on for at least 20 yrs.

Your first stop should be the Plaza de Armas, we recommend you to grab a Uber to arrive there, otherwise, you can take a taxi from the street. Stroll through the square, take a closer look at the Presidential Palace, and if you are interested, you can pay your ticket to visit the interior of the Cathedral of Lima, it is not expensive at all. A fact that is not very touristy, but interesting, is to go to the area behind the Government Palace, along this path, you will see the Rimac river, the largest and most important in Lima. We know that it is somewhat dirty these days, but years ago, the ancient chroniclers reported that it was very common to see spectacled bears and deer drinking from the banks of the Rimac and fishermen collecting shrimp. Along this road, heading to the right, a few meters away you will find the “Parque de la Muralla” tourist complex with free access. The interesting thing about the subject is that you will have the best view of Cerro San Critobal, one of the largest hills in the city of Lima, with 400 meters above sea level. The peculiar thing about this hill is that it is full of crowded houses, in the style of favelas, all painted following a typical design of pre-Columbian art. This is the not-so-elegant area of Lima, the one you won’t see on Trip Advisor, but we, as good locals, tell you everything we find interesting. You can climb the hill! From there you will have the view of all of Lima, impressive, but perhaps we do not recommend doing it alone, much less at night, since it is located in the Rimac district, it is not the safest district in the city, so to speak. Well, since you are here, we fervently recommend you to enter the Parque de la Muralla and eat at the restaurant called “La Muralla” it has one of the best Peruvian dishes we have eaten, try their Ceviche and Lomo Saltado and accompany it with pitchers of natural juice of Camu Camu, Maracuya or Chicha Morada. Lets go see the next cool spot! The eerie Peruvian catacombs are located under the Basílica y Convento de San Francisco de Lima (Saint Francis Monastery). The Spanish baroque monastery and the surrounding historic centre of Lima are part of a UNESCO World Heritage site. Explore the final resting place for over 25,000 wealthy Limeños, a practice that stopped in 1808. The larger bones such as femurs, forearms, and skulls are arranged in a circular pattern to make them more aesthetically pleasing to fans of the morbid. You can join a guided tour for about $3, which takes an hour and includes a chronological telling of the catacombs’ history. You can walk around the entire area of the old town of Lima and enjoy the squares and streets. The last place we recommend you to see is Chinatown, it’s small, so it won’t take you long. Peru has a strong Chinese influence, due to mass immigration in the 19th century, giving rise to an extraordinary culinary fusion, dare to enter one of the Chifas on Capon street, you will not regret it!

Barranco: In the mid-1900s, the stream that ran below the bridge was converted into a stone pathway leading from the Puente de los Suspiros(The Bridge of Sighs) to the beaches at the foot of the coastal cliffs. This descending pathway, known as the Bajada de los Baños, was used by fisherman on their daily descent to the sea. But the fishermen were not the only people drawn on a regular basis to the bridge and its immediate surroundings. It also became a point of artistic and philosophical contemplation for some notable local figures, including acclaimed Peruvian writers and poets such as José María Eguren, Martín Adán and Julio Ramón Ribeyro. And where poets be, there be lovers too, as someone probably said once. Yep, if you wanted to woo a woman or court a fine young gentleman, the Puente de los Suspiros was the place to get lucky. Such was the extent of all this wooing that the bridge became known as a place of amorous sighing, hence the name: the Bridge of Sighs. Then along came Peruvian singer and composer Chabuca Granda and her Barranco bridge-inspired song “El Puente de los Suspiros,” written in 1960. Once immortalized in verse by the queen of música criolla, the bridge became Barranco’s most iconic symbol of art and love and poetry. The old fishermen, meanwhile, must have been baffled by the sudden appearance of flocks of lovestruck young poets at the start of their traditional descent to the sea (at which point they probably thought “to hell with this!” and found a different way down to the ocean). Hold your breath… it’s the Bridge of Sighs - If you’re able to walk across the bridge while holding your breath, your wish will come true.

Av. Malecon de la Reserva 610 (not a bus station despite what Google Maps say). No visit to Miraflores is complete without going to Larcomar. This shopping mall located on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean gives you stunning views specially during the summer. We mention it in the food section because there are several excellent options there (Mango’s, La Trattoria di Mambrino, Tanta). On top of that there is a movie theater, a disco and of course shopping with many luxury brands available. It is obvious why Larcomar is one of Lima’s most popular spots for locals and tourists alike. From Larcomar you can take Avenida Larco to go to Miraflores’ downtown.
