This is an expensive luau, but it has a good reputation for authenticity, and the food is excellent (served at the table, not a buffet). It is located in a section of Lahaina that survived the fire (next to Aloha Mixed Plate). I recommend reserving as early as possible because seating (proximity to the stage) is based on the reservation date. Or you can select "traditional seating" (on the ground with a low table), which is right next to the stage.

If you’re really ambitious and want to add a luau onto your plans, this is probably the day for that. We recommend Old Lahaina Luau. It’s a large luau, but it’s well done. And while it is expensive, when is the next time you’re going to watch a pig get roasted in the ground? The overall quality of this show makes it arguably the best on the island. If you’re looking for one of the top cultural and authentic lūʻau’s on Maui, the Old Lāhainā Lūʻau is the choice. Known for its rich history that traces back to the 80s, its attention to detail, quality of performance, and focus on the five senses makes it one of the best all-around lūʻaus on Maui. Most of its seating is at tables and chairs (each group gets their own), but it also has the unique option of “traditional seating,” where you sit cross legged on a cushion and dine off a low table. 2.4 miles north of Clever Trevor's Puamana 167-4 and 4 miles south of Clever Trevor's Konea 142 at Honua Kai.

Black Rock is the large rock hill at the north end of Ka'anapali Beach. This is a great spot because of the easy access and protection that the rocky cliffs often give from northerly swell activity. Kaanapali beach has many high-end resorts along the beach, so walking to Black Rock is easy from here. Otherwise, you can drive along the Honoapi'ilani Highway (30) and turn on Kaanapali Parkway or Kekae Dr towards the ocean. When snorkeling, make sure to stay clear of cliff divers. Also, each night, a Hawaiian torch lighting ceremony occurs where tiki torches are lit along the coastline and all the way up to the top of Black Rock. It ends with the torch lighters jumping into the ocean. A lot of fun to watch.

Great beach for snorkeling, swimming, Whale watching in whale season (nov-mar) and jump off black rock. This beach is in front of the Sheraton at Black Rock so it is touristy which makes for great people watching! We spend the day here at the beach, jump off black rock then walk down the beach front walkway to the Hula Grill barefoot bar for lunch/dinner in front of Whalers village. TIP: Catch an amazing sunset from this beach as they blow the conch shell and a Hawaiian man runs thru lighting the torches all the way to the tip of black rock then jumps in the water! You will have to park in the Public beach parking or whalers village and walk down the public beach path to get this beach.

An open-air shopping area just a 5 minute walk from our condo. There are over 90 shops, which range from exclusive high-end boutiques to bargain shops like the ABC stores. And if you shop long enough, you're bound to get hungry. Fortunately, they offer several fabulous restaurants to choose from, with killer ocean views and great reviews: The Hula Grill, Leilani's On The Beach, and Cane and Taro. Or, if you want something less expensive for a quick on-the-go meal, there is also a small food court.

Whalers Village is a great place to shop, eat, and hang out at one of the best beaches in Maui. You can also book Whale Watching tours and Sunset Cruises that depart from here. We like to catch the bus outside the Kuleana and take it to Whalers Village instead of driving. The bus comes at 51 minutes before the hour. When you come back from Whalers Village make sure it is Rt #28 going to Kapalua. You will want to get off the bus at The Polynesian Shores Condos and then walk south about a block to the Kuleana. You can take the beach chairs and umbrella with you on the bus!! If you do drive, you will need to pay for parking. Most of the shops will validate your parking if you spend over $40.00. Just make sure that if you are going to hang out at the beach then wait until you leave to make your purchases so you can get your parking validated! The address is: 2435 Kaanapali Pkwy, Lahaina, HI 96761. It is 4.1 miles from the condo and an 8 min drive.

The Royal Ka'anapali Course is a Par 71 that stretches to 6700 yards from the championship tees. The course was opened in 1962 and is one of only two Robert Trent Jones Sr designed courses in all of Hawaii. The signature hole is the beautiful 5th that takes you directly down to Ka'anapali and Black Rock Beach. (You will be so close to the ocean you can go swimming!) Robert Trent Jones Sr took advantage of the rolling landscape to create gently sloping fairways and large contoured greens to ensure a challenging approach to each hole. You will have views of the two neighboring islands (Molokai and Lanai) from almost every hole on the course. The Royal Ka'anapali Course begins at sea level
