The General Manager for Vacation Markets will be responsible for development and growth in some of our most high profile vacation markets, both in the US and internationally. In order to continue growth and define strategy in these markets, you will need a unique blend of operational prowess and creative genius. We need someone who is analytical, decisive and has the entrepreneurial drive to craft and execute a strategic plan for our vacation markets. On top of that, we need someone with true passion for what we are doing: Pioneering the sharing economy and helping our hosts be micro-entrepreneurs.
In this role you will be a strategist, an executor, a PR wiz, and a cross-functional leader. The work is hard, the team is brilliant, the mission is big. If that all sounds like fun to you, you may be the right person for the role.
You will be based in San Francisco, with trips to the key markets when necessary, to represent Airbnb there and execute local strategies. In doing so you will work closely with our Public Policy and Community team.
Preferred candidates have a strong track record in operations and delivering on autonomous projects.
Define and implement strategy for Vacation Markets globally
Accountability for the markets health and growth
Ensure consistency and robust operations in alignment with our Global headquarters in San Francisco
Pilot new actions in the market and evaluate their effect on business targets
Demonstrate strong leadership through robust execution of projects
Active recruitment of teams
P&L and budget responsibilities
Proven track record in building, recruiting & successfully leading teams in fast-paced environments
Experience and knowledge of the vacation rental market a plus
Proven track record of growing a business and successfully increasing company revenue
Must have shown strong strategic oversight and have proven track record of independent decision making
Must be self-running and a creative problem solver
Positive attitude, professional appearance and ability to work as a team member, communicate with others and share responsibility to work towards common goals
Proven track record as a strong communicator
Must have strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage conflict and change in a professional demeanour
Must be Analytical / data-oriented with a strong business sense
Must have Project Management experience
Must have experience in Travel or Vacation Markets
