Hunter Mountain the biggest ski area in the Catskills its just a short drive from Jefferson. A base elevation 1,600 ft. with a summit that climbs to 3,200 ft. Hunter Mountain maintains renowned terrain across three separate mountains, with high-efficiency, state-of-the-art snowmaking that covers 100 percent of its trails. The ski resort is so confident, in fact, that it offers a Hunter Mountain Snow Guarantee whereby skiers and riders within a certain time window of purchase can turn their ticket in for a voucher good until the end of the current season. The ski area also boasts an award-winning Learning Center and programs and an entire dedicated training mountain designed for beginners and families alike, Hunter One. The mountain's terrain is split evenly between beginner, intermediate and advanced trails, along with 10 percent expert, and seasoned skiers and riders will get their fix on the expert terrain of Hunter West and Empire Terrain park. Hunter North is the newest addition that was just added recently to the mountain, which make this the biggest mountain in ski acreges in the Catskills region. (Quick Note the mountain can get crowded on the weekend, so keep that in mind)

Snow Tubing at Hunter Mountain!! Hunter Mountain’s snow tubing hill, at nearly 1000 feet long, offers a “no-skills” fun experience perfect for the whole family. Whether you choose to spend your day tubing instead of skiing or riding, or make it your apres-ski activity, you’re sure to have a blast. Conveniently located at the base of the Kaatskill Mountain Club Hotel, our snow tubing hill is one of the largest in New York and features its own surface lift that makes getting back to the top a breeze. Snow Tubing tickets sell out quickly, so we recommend purchasing your tickets online in advance to secure your spot. Hours of operation are 12pm to 7pm – ticket sales will open 30 minutes before the snow tubing park opens and close 30 before the snow tubing park closes.

A great family-friendly place to ski. A bit more crowded than Windham at times, but the trails are outstanding.
