Sanctuary Tour and Pamper a Pig
At Wayward Ranch Animal Sanctuary our herd of rescued pot bellies are some of our most loveable, exciting and memorable residents! This experience gives you the opportunity for a 15 minute tour of the beautiful 60 acre sanctuary to meet our horses, goats, sheep and cats. Then onto 45 minutes of dedicated time with our herd of pigs! Pigs are often misunderstood, labeled as loud, dirty and not social. This couldn't be further from the truth! Pigs are in fact highly intelligent, emotional and sensitive creatures that thrive with enrichment and human interaction. During your time with the pigs, you will learn the unique stories of each pig and have the chance to groom, feed, cuddle and participate in the various fun enrichment games! If you don't see a date and time that works for you, please reach out to us directly to schedule! Other things to note Whenever you are interacting with animals, it is important to keep in mind that animals can be unpredictable. They may accidentally scratch you or even grab a finger when they mean to grab a treat from your hand. Our pigs are not aggressive generally, but it is always best to be cautious around all animals! It's also important that you do NOT bring along your own pet to this experience because they will not be allowed on the experience and cannot be left alone in a car!

Adventure Hike with the Herd
Everything is better with goats. (It's true.) Designed specifically for the people who love being active in the outdoors and also love animals! Come hike with us and our herd of rescued goats through the beauty of the forest tucked into a remote part of the Catskills, just 2 hours from Manhattan. Our goats feel safest with humans and so they magically follow and walk with us through the woods on seasoned trails as we become part of their herd. No leashes needed! We will meander over beautiful streams, enjoying the wildlife and scenery while we forage for some of the goat's favorite treats. We stop midway for a brief rest and water break before finishing our loop, hiking approximately 2.5 miles and taking about 1.5 - 2 hrs, depending on our pace. For those who are interested, your guide can tell you the rescue story of each goat, share their quirks and different personalities and answer any question you might have about goats in general (with a few terrible goat jokes/puns thrown in for good measure.) If you are looking for a unique outdoor experience that combines your love of animals, hiking and nature, this is for you! Please note: * This experience is best suited for guests over age 16 over due to the length of the hike, variable terrain & size/behaviors of the goats. *This activity is rain or shine, with the exception of local weather advisories or heavy downpour.

Essential oil and hydrolat distillation in the Hudson Valley
My name is Libby and I am a clinical aromatherapist, herbalist, organic skincare formulator and experienced educator. Discover the ancient art of distillation on a large property in upstate New York, in the picturesque town of Rhinebeck. In this experience, you will learn how to distill two products - essential oil and hydrolat (medicinal water) - using a copper alembic still imported from Europe. Aromatic remedies have been distilled using this method for thousands of years. Through hands-on instruction, you will learn the basics of distillation in relation to these medicinal waters and oils, preparing the plant matter and setting up the still. Guests will be able to taste a variety of hydrolats which have been sourced directly from the land, as we wait for the magic of the still to produce the aromatics. You will make a wellness product using essential oils and hydrolats that can be taken home while we discuss ways in which these products can be incorporated into daily life. We'll end with you filtering the fresh essential oils and hydrolats to take home and enjoy. *Please contact me if a time/date that works for you is not available OR if you want to book a private group for up to 30 guests. I am happy to accommodate special requests if possible. * Discounts apply for multiple people booking together.
