Top questions
Is my experience right for Airbnb? Airbnb Experiences is a marketplace of unforgettable experiences hosted by locals who know their city best. You can host unique tours and tastings, art and outdoor activities, classes, workshops, and more. Learn more about Airbnb Experience standards. How do I apply? It’s easy to get started. First, share a bit about yourself and your experience. Then add details, photos and itineraries, set your pricing, and submit your listing for our team to review. We may get back to you with suggested changes, licenses to upload, or to ask for proof of insurance. Once your listing is approved, you can publish it and start accepting reservations. Get started. What are Airbnb’s fees? It’s free to create and submit a listing for review. Airbnb automatically deducts a 20% service fee from the payout of every experience booked.
Hosting basics
How will guests discover my experience? Experiences have a dedicated tab on Airbnb, and can appear at multiple phases of a guest’s trip––from search results and planning recommendations, to emails and notifications, to even showing up as relevant suggestions in itineraries while guests travel.
How quickly do I get paid? Depending on what payout method you set up in your Airbnb profile and your financial institution, you’ll typically get paid the day after hosting an experience.Application process
How are experiences evaluated? Experiences on Airbnb are vetted for quality, taking into account things like years of experience, education, certifications, awards, strong portfolios, creative offerings, and positive past feedback from guests.
What does the review process look like? Once you submit your listing, you’ll receive an email confirmation and any immediate next steps. Every experience is reviewed by a real person on our team, and you should hear back about approval in 1–2 weeks. Can I change or edit my listing after I submit? Yes, you can edit details like descriptions, pricing, and availability even after you submit your listing. All changes are reviewed by our team for accuracy before they can be published. What happens if my experience is not approved? If your experience isn’t approved initially, don’t worry. We’ll let you know if there are any outstanding issues or if additional documents are needed, and help you update your listing and resubmit. In cases where there are too many similar experiences on the platform, your listing may not be approved but could be accepted at a later date.Licensing & insurance
Do I need a business license? It depends on the type of listing you’re creating as well as local regulations. If a license or other documentation is required, we’ll notify you after we’ve reviewed your listing and ask you to submit any additional documents. Learn more about licensing requirements on Airbnb. Do I need my own insurance? Yes, Airbnb requires that you maintain liability insurance appropriate for your business, and we may ask to see proof of this insurance. Does Airbnb provide insurance? Additionally, Airbnb maintains liability insurance which provides coverage of up to $1 million USD for experience hosts in the rare event you are found legally responsible for a guest or others getting hurt, or having their belongings damaged or stolen during an Airbnb Experience.
