In the past two years Airbnb’s community has grown significantly, so we updated our Terms of Service, Host Guarantee Terms and Conditions, and Privacy Policy to better serve you.
On April 30, 2014, we will ask you to agree to these updated terms. Please carefully read them. Overall, we made each of these terms more readable and clear; changes include:

The Updated Terms of Service

  • To help us continue to serve our community efficiently and effectively around the globe, we recently opened our international hub in Ireland. Our community outside of the United States will contract with Airbnb Ireland. United States users continue to contract with Airbnb, Inc.
  • Users authorize us to facilitate collection and remittance of certain taxes in certain jurisdictions upon notice.

The Updated Privacy Policy

  • The updated privacy policy will apply to your information obtained by us since you joined Airbnb.
  • The updated privacy policy helps us improve products and services by analyzing, reviewing, or scanning information about how you interact with our platform (including communications with other Airbnb users). We do not sell your information to any third parties.
  • We may now re-target advertisements of Airbnb listings and Airbnb services to users.
  • We have strengthened protections for users about when we will respond to government requests for information.

The Updated Host Guarantee Terms and Conditions

  • We have streamlined the process for Guests and Hosts to amicably resolve issues before escalating them to Airbnb.
