What if I can't get in touch with my host?
If you do not have an accepted reservation: most hosts reply to messages within a few hours. If a host has not responded to your inquiry, feel free to reach out to other hosts in the area. It is up to hosts to respond to you in a timely fashion or risk losing their chance at having you as a guest. Read more.
If you have an accepted reservation: most hosts reply to messages within a few hours. Make sure to try all means of contacting your host. If you're having difficulty reaching him or her via the Airbnb messaging system, try email and phone. Refer to your itinerary for this contact information, as well as other useful information, like check-in instructions and detailed directions to the listing.
Please ensure you have:
- Checked your email inbox associated with your Airbnb account
- Checked the Airbnb message thread
- Called your host
Emailed your host
If you’ve arrived at the listing and your host is unreachable: contact us to help you contact your host and assist with making alternative arrangements should we be unable to reach your host. Our Guest Refund Policy supports you in the event your host fails to provide you access to the listing you booked. Should your host be unresponsive to our attempts to reach him or her, we can either fully refund you for your stay or transfer your payment to a new reservation on Airbnb at an alternative listing substantially comparable to your originally booked listing, as we deem appropriate.
