How do referrals and travel credits work?

Invite people to Airbnb by sharing your referral link through email or by posting to Facebook and Twitter! When friends and family you invite to Airbnb complete qualifying reservations, you'll earn travel credits to use on your own Airbnb trips.

  • Earn $25 when your friend completes a qualifying reservation as a guest
  • Earn $75 when your friend completes a qualifying reservation as a host

This means you can earn a possible travel credit total of $100 for each friend you refer!

Your referrals need to click the link you send them and create a new Airbnb account in order for you to receive future travel credits. Click the Invite More button from your Dashboard to see all of your current referral details.

Your available travel credits automatically appear on the Book It page in the form of a coupon when you go to submit a reservation request for a qualifying reservation. You can only use one coupon per reservation. Keep in mind that credits won't apply to a reservation that has already been paid for, but they will be available and applied to your next trip.

qualifying reservation has a total value of $75 or more (including service fees). All reservations must be booked, paid for, and completed on the site in order to receive or redeem travel credits. That means you'll receive your travel credits after the check-in date of your friend's qualifying reservation. A canceled reservation doesn't qualify.

You won't receive travel credits if you're the guest or host on a reservation with a person you refer. Additionally, if both a guest and host are referred by you, you won’t receive travel credits if they book with one another. Travel credits expire three years after they're earned.

But wait, there’s more! The friends you refer get $25 travel credit automatically applied to their first reservation of $75 or more as an Airbnb guest. Get ready for the thank yous!
