What are house manuals and house rules?

House Rules: explains what to do or not to do at the listing. This is public information found on a listing's description. For instance, maybe guests need to clean the kitchen after use, should not go into the attic, or are not allowed to smoke on the premises.

Guests: see the House Rules on a listing’s page before booking, or in your itinerary after your reservation is accepted.

Hosts: edit your House Rules at Your Listings > Manage Listing > Details. (House Rules only appears as an option after you complete the required steps and list your space.)

House Manual: explains how the listing works. This is private information shared only with guests who have an accepted reservation. It's the best spot for hosts to share details like the wireless internet password, how to use the dishwasher, where to put linens upon checkout, where the delicious coffee is hidden, and other information they might need to get the most out of a listing.

Guests: you receive a listing's House Manual in your itinerary after your reservation is accepted.

Hosts: edit your House Manual at Your Listings > Manage Listing > Listing. (House Manual only appears as an option after you complete the required steps and list your space.)
