What is a cancellation policy?

Cancellation policy: the conditions under which a host returns (or doesn’t return) money to a guest upon the guest canceling the reservation.

Cancellation policies protect hosts in the event of unexpected guest cancellations. Each listing on Airbnb has a cancellation policy, chosen by the host. We strongly recommend reviewing all cancellation policies before making reservations: www.airbnb.com/home/cancellation_policies

A listing’s cancellation policy is found in the Description tab. You must agree to the policy when submitting a reservation request. If you have an accepted reservation, the cancellation policy is on your itinerary.

If you need to cancel your reservation as a guest, you are refunded according to the cancellation policy. If your host needs to cancel your reservation, you can choose to rebook or to be fully refunded.
