How long you have to write a review

Note for experiences: The information in this article only applies to experiences attended on or after May 13, 2025. For experiences attended before May 13, 2025, please refer to Reviews for experiences.

Ready to share how things went? To keep reviews fair, both hosts and guests have a time limit for leaving reviews.

When you can leave a review

You have 14 days after your stay, service, or experience ends to write a review.

For homes:

Both guests and hosts can leave reviews. Reviews will be published once both you and your host have written reviews for each other, or after the 14-day time limit ends—whichever comes first.

You should receive an email to leave a review on the morning of checkout. The 14-day time limit starts then.

Guests and hosts can also leave a review for certain reservations that are canceled on or after the day of check-in (12:00 AM in the home’s timezone).

For services and experiences:

Only guests can leave a review, but hosts can leave a public response. Reviews are published as soon as you submit them. You should receive an email to leave a review 2 hours after the service or experience ends. The 14-day time limit starts then.

Guests will not be able to review a canceled service or experience.

Editing a review within the time limit

Still in the review period and want to make changes? Find out how to edit reviews. Keep in mind that you can’t make changes to reviews for homes after both you and your host have published reviews.

Check if you can still write a review

Check if you can still write a review on desktop

If the reservation appears in Reviews to write, you still have time to write a review. If it’s in Expired reviews, the time limit has passed and you can no longer leave a review.

  1. Click Profile > Reviews
  2. Select Reviews by you
  3. Check if the reservation is under Reviews to write or Expired reviews

Alternatively, you can click Trips and select the place you’d like to review.

Late reviews

We’re unable to make any exceptions to allow for reviews more than 14 days after a stay, service, or experience ends. If you'd still like to thank your host or give them helpful feedback about your time, you can send them a message.
