What does it mean to enforce or waive my cancellation policy?

If your guest alters a long-term reservation with less than a 30-day notice, you'll have two options: (1) to enforce your cancellation policy and charge your guest for the next 30 nights (or up until the end of the original reservation if fewer than 30 nights remain), or (2) to temporarily waive your cancellation policy and only charge your guest for the nights stayed.

1. Enforce: The guest is charged up to 30 nights from the date of the alteration request. The cancellation policy is immediately reinstated after the alteration is accepted. Your calendar is updated according to the new dates.

2. Waive:  The guest is charged the actual nights stayed. The cancellation policy is only waived for the moment to allow for the alteration; it is not waived for the entire reservation. The cancellation policy is immediately reinstated after the alteration is accepted. Your calendar is updated according to the new dates.

This choice is completely up to you. We just want to make sure it's easy for you to either choose to enforce your cancellation policy or accommodate the special needs of your guests, should you desire.

Please note: If your guest alters the dates of the long-term reservation with more than a 30-day notice, the guest is giving more notice than required by the cancellation policy. This means that you won't see an option to accept or decline the alteration request since you're already being covered for those 30 nights.
