Tax collection and remittance by Airbnb in Saudi Arabia

Guests who book Airbnb listings that are located in the country of Saudi Arabia will pay the following taxes as part of their reservation:

  • Value Added Tax: 15% of the listing price including any cleaning fees for stays in Saudi Arabia.

Hosts with Airbnb listings who aren’t VAT registered won’t have any obligation to collect and remit the VAT on their accommodation themselves. The National Deemed Supplier Regime law will require Airbnb to collect and remit these taxes on their behalf.

Hosts with Airbnb listings who are VAT registered should continue to account for the VAT on their accommodation. If this applies to you, you’ll need to provide yourVAT ID to Airbnb so that Airbnb won’t collect and remit these taxes on top of your accommodation price. To let us know you are registered for VAT, add your VAT ID number here.

You can also find more information about the National Deemed Supplier Regime on Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority website.
