You can block a user from viewing your profile and direct messaging with you on Airbnb. If someone is on your connection list, blocking them will also remove them from your list, and you will be removed from their list. If you’ve blocked someone, they won’t be able to book your listing or vice versa, book the same experience or be on the same trip moving forward.
After you’ve finished blocking a user, you can also choose to share more details and report them to Airbnb, especially if you think they’re offensive, attempting to scam you, or something else.
You can unblock a user from their profile after you’ve blocked them. Unblocking a user will undo the effects of blocking, which may allow them to see your profile or directly message you if you’ve traveled together before.
If you block a host or guest for an upcoming reservation or during an active reservation, you may continue to receive messages related to the trip from the blocked user before and during the reservation, and for up to two weeks after the reservation ends – this ensures all necessary trip related communications are available.
For group messages, the conversation remains open for two weeks after your reservation. If you cancel the reservation, blocking takes effect immediately. You can also always contact us to step in and help.
Don’t want to block someone, but notice something not right about how a host or guest is interacting with you on Airbnb or during a trip? You can choose to report them instead or in addition to blocking them which can help us keep the whole Airbnb community safe.
