Hosts are responsible for ensuring they provide safe and high-quality services and experiences involving food and alcohol. This includes adhering to any applicable laws or regulations and the following rules:
Keep things clean: Maintain a clean and hygienic environment throughout your food storage, preparation, and serving areas. Regularly sanitize surfaces, utensils, and equipment before, during, and after food preparation. Avoid cross-contamination of different food types. Keep food prep, storage, and serving areas free from pests.
Store food at correct temperatures: Follow established guidelines for refrigeration and freezing.
Cook food thoroughly: Ensure that all food items are cooked to the appropriate internal temperature to eliminate the risk of foodborne illnesses. Clearly disclose any items that are intentionally undercooked or raw (ex: sushi).
Use safe water: Use potable water from a safe and reliable source.
Offer quality ingredients: Use fresh and high-quality ingredients for your culinary experiences.
Disclose allergens: Clearly communicate in the description any known allergens present in your food offerings. If a guest discloses an allergy, clearly communicate where they may encounter that allergen.
Accommodate dietary requests: If guests provide dietary restrictions, make a reasonable effort to accommodate by offering suitable alternatives or modifications to your menu.
Verify guest age: Before serving alcohol, request identification to verify that your guests meet the legal drinking age.
Moderate alcohol consumption: Encourage guests to drink responsibly and know their limits, and do not pressure guests to drink. Provide information about the alcoholic beverages being served, including their alcohol content.
