Changing your payout method when you have an unpaid Airbnb balance

If you use the same method for Airbnb payments and payouts—such as your bank account—you can’t change it as a payout method if you have an unpaid balance owed to Airbnb.

Why you can’t change your payout method if you have a payout adjustment pending

If you owe any amount of money to Airbnb—such as for a host cancellation or reservation change—and there will be an adjustment made to your future payout(s), you won't be able to change or remove the payout method until the adjustment is complete.

You might be shown an error like, "Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again later." when trying to update your payout method.

Airbnb collects adjustments through the payout method on file. If you switch methods, we can’t process the payment, so changes are blocked until the balance is settled. Once that’s done, you’ll be able to make changes to your payout method.

When the adjustment will be completed

You can update your payout method once the adjustment is deducted from your next scheduled payout(s). Find out how to check the status of an adjustment.
