The cancellation policies below, which include a new, free 24-hour cancellation refund period for guests, are effective for reservations booked on or after January 20, 2025 for listings in Argentina, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Morocco, Netherlands, Philippines, Poland, South Africa, Sweden, and Turkey. Any reservations booked before January 20, 2025 are subject to our current standard cancellation policies.

“Full refund” refers to the price you set for your listing. Refunds on Airbnb guest fees depend on several factors.
For reservations booked after April 21, 2025, the cleaning fee is considered part of the nightly price you set for your listing. Depending on your listing’s cancellation policy, you may be paid some or all of the cleaning fee if a guest cancels outside of the full refund period.
For reservations booked before April 21, 2025, you won’t be paid the cleaning fee if the guest cancels before check-in and you may be paid the full cleaning fee if the guest cancels after check-in.
Starting on January 20, 2025, all short-term stay cancellation policies will include a new, free 24-hour cancellation period allowing guests to cancel for a full refund for up to 24 hours after the reservation is confirmed, as long as the reservation was confirmed at least 7 days before check-in (based on the listing’s local time).

We are introducing a new Limited policy, which allows for guests to cancel until 14 days before check-in for a full refund. The Strict policy will not be an available option after January 20, 2025.
Hosts who have a Strict policy on any current listings will be converted to Firm, unless they opt out and choose to keep Strict by January 20, 2025.

When you set your standard cancellation policy for stays of fewer than 28 nights, you can choose to offer a non-refundable option. The non-refundable option lets guests book at a discounted rate that’s not subject to your standard cancellation policy. If they cancel, they won’t be refunded unless the cancellation occurs within the 24-hour free cancellation period.
