What if I can't get in touch with my guest?
If your guest is late in arriving, there is a strong chance he or she might call, email, or arrive soon. Many guests do not have access to a phone or have an alternate phone number while traveling, or they may encounter some travel delays that could affect their arrival time.
As long as the reservation shows as "Accepted" in your Airbnb account, the reservation is considered active . You can verify the status of the reservation in your host confirmation. In the end, should your guest decide to cancel or not show up, we will uphold your cancellation policy. Your payout will be released normally, 24 hours after the originally scheduled check-in date as long as the Host Obligations were upheld.
Airbnb collects the official check-in time from your listing's details (or at 3 PM in your time zone if you have no check-in time selected). If any changes are made, always confirm the check-in and checkout process in the message thread on Airbnb so you, your guest, and Airbnb have a clear reference should an issue arise.
Here are a few ways to reach your guest:
- Call your guest on their provided phone number
- Message through the Airbnb messaging system
- Email your guest through their personal email
