We're experiencing a high contact volume right now and wait times are longer than usual.

What happens if my guest cancels their experience booking?

If a guest cancels within 24 hours of booking (or if they cancel more than 7 days before the start of the experience), they will be refunded and you won’t receive a payout for that booking.

On November 10th, we're updating the existing cancellation policy for Experiences, and you’ll have your choice of two options for future bookings:

    1. Guests can cancel until 7 days before the Experience start time for a full refund, or within 24 hours of booking as long as the booking is made more than 48 hours before the start time.

This is a modified version of the current policy. Guests that book less than 2 days from the start time won’t be refunded if they cancel their booking within 24 hours.

    2. Guests can cancel until 24 hours before the Experience start time for a full refund.

We’re testing this new cancellation policy, and if you opt in, half of your prospective guests will be offered free cancellation until 24 hours before the Experience start time. We’ll keep you updated on the results of this test.

Existing Airbnb Experiences will default to the first option on November 10th, but you’ll be able to update your cancellation policy at any time by editing your Experience settings.

The Extenuating Circumstances policy overrides all cancellation policies. If your guest cancels for an approved reason, you won’t get a payout for that booking.
