Why do I need to verify a payment method?
If you were asked to verify a payment method, it’s likely because one of your payment methods is under review. We review all bookings and payment methods in order to keep Airbnb secure. While your payment is being reviewed, you won’t be able to make new bookings. Any existing accepted reservations won’t be affected, though.
During the review, we may ask you to confirm that you’re authorized to use the payment method (for example, by providing a credit card’s billing statement). Any private or sensitive information you give us will be deleted from our system after the review. We will let you know as soon as the review is finished.
Once we’ve approved the payment method, you’ll be able to book again. If we discover that you aren’t authorized to use the payment method, your Airbnb account will be deactivated and you won’t be able to create a new one.
