What is the Airbnb cancellation policy for stays?
Note: If you need to cancel your reservation because of the coronavirus (COVID-19), please review our article on options for cancellation.
On Airbnb, hosts set the cancellation policies that guests can book with. The terms vary depending on the place and the amount of time left before check-in.
You’ll find cancellation details towards the bottom of the listing page for the place you want to reserve. You’ll also be able to review the cancellation policy again before you book. After you book, you’ll see the details in the reservation confirmation email and your Trips page.
Hosts choose from several standardized cancellation policies that we enforce to protect both hosts and guests. Available policies include Flexible, Moderate, and Strict. The Long Term cancellation policy automatically applies to all reservations of 28 nights or more. For some places, hosts offer a choice—non-refundable or refundable—each with a different price and set of terms.
Different cancellation policies apply to reservations in Italy and reservations made by South Korean travelers with a Strict cancellation policy.
