The space
The open concept living room with vaulted knotty pine ceilings and an original masonry fireplace with a wood-burning stove set the mood for cozy and intimate evenings, sharing stories or playing games while listening to a few classic records.

Make your way into the gourmet kitchen where you’ll feel inspired to create delicious meals together, or whip up your favorite cocktails to sip at the bar while someone else cooks! Fully equipped with a built-in stove top and a separate wall oven and microwave, the kitchen has all the accessories you might need. A full coffee & tea station is provided to start your mornings off right. The cozy and inviting Scandinavian-inspired dining room creates an intimate mood where we hope you’ll make wonderful memories with your favorite people.

Step outside onto the main floor back deck where you’ll be immersed in the sounds of the forest while taking in the breathtaking view. A perfect place to connect with nature and recharge. Hang out by the chiminea and enjoy the fire vibe over a glass of wine, or grill and dine under the pines. Morning sunrises while enjoying a cup of coffee are one of the many highlights of the lodge.

Experience ultimate relaxation in our luxurious private hot tub on the front patio. Nestled among the pines, this haven offers the perfect blend of serenity and indulgence. Unwind as the warm, bubbling waters melt away your cares, while you soak up the crisp mountain air and starlit skies. Whether you're seeking a romantic escape or a tranquil getaway, our hot tub oasis promises an unforgettable, rejuvenating experience amidst nature's splendor.

Take your choice of 3 bedrooms. Head up to the loft for a camping-by-the-lake vibe with an open concept and queen-sized bed or enjoy the main level “wolf den” with a modern yet woodsy vibe, located next to the main level bathroom. Head downstairs to the primary suite with an abundance of space and a beautiful masonry stone fireplace with an electric log set for the ultimate mood. The room is equipped with a desk with a forest view, whether you're in need of a work station or want to stir up your creative juices. Cozy up in the king-sized bed, enjoy the privacy of your own back deck while taking in the fresh air, and relax in the large soaking tub in your en-suite bathroom which also includes a double vanity and spacious closet.

For those warm summer days, there is an evaporative cooling unit in the dining room, a large ceiling fan in the living room, as well as a floor fan in each bedroom. Once winter arrives, the lodge is equipped with a new and efficient Rinnai wall unit in the master bedroom connected to a Nest thermostat that is capable of heating the entire house, however, there is also an additional wall heating unit on the main floor as well as the wood stove which heats the house up quickly. Firewood is provided for our guests.

The lodge is fully set up with Alexa and smart plugs. Turning on inside and outside lights is as easy as a simple command. Start up the record player for an old-fashioned music experience or bluetooth to the sound bar to listen to your favorite tunes. All lights are on dimmers to make sure you are able to create that perfect mood.

MOUNTAIN LIVING

Critters such as mice, spiders, and even the occasional bear are native to the area. It is possible that a few of these guys will make an appearance inside and around homes in the mountains. Please keep in mind you are booking a trip in the wilderness and this is THEIR territory. We prepare for such sightings with traps, spray, and scheduled pest control visits, but will not give refunds for sightings of any of these critters. We want you to be fully prepared so please do not book if this is an issue. We only want you to have the very best time! It is a small sacrifice when trading the city life for nature. If there is anything that seems out of the ordinary, however, please notify me right away.

WINTER

Winter is one of the most special times to visit the mountains but it is important you are prepared. Most roads are steep and narrow and can be very slippery. If it is snowing or the roads are icy, chains are REQUIRED by CalTrans who will perform control checkpoints, and a 4x4 is HIGHLY suggested in order to get up the mountain, and especially our road. We will make sure that the parking deck and steps to the house are cleared for you when you arrive, however, if it snows during your stay, it’s your responsibility to keep up with the shoveling to ensure a safe and timely departure. A shovel and salt will be provided. If you need any assistance shoveling or if your vehicle get's stuck, I will have contacts available to help you, however this will be at your expense. There are no refunds or discounts for not being prepared for winter weather.
