Located within the medina and built in the 14th century, the Bou Inania Madrasa is the most architecturally refined of Fes’s theological colleges. Beyond the massive brass entrance doors, its interior courtyard is a masterpiece of elaborate zellige tilework, carved plaster and beautiful cedar lattice screens. Unlike many such schools, the Bou Inania has a full mosque adjoining it - closed to visitors during prayer times.

We highly recommend breakfast at Cafe Clock. They have a great roof terrace with a view of the minaret of the Bou Inania Medersa. It's a wonderful place to go, in fact, for any meal. They often have live music on Sunday nights. No wine or spirits.
